Country Dance*New York will present a lively contra dance tonight, April 27th, from 8:00 pm to 10:45 pm at the Church of the Village (201 West 13th Street, Manhattan). No previous experience is required and it is not necessary to come with a partner. From 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm there is a beginners' workshop, and the caller walks everyone through the patterns of each dance. Vibrant and spirited music will be performed by what is probably the U.K's most high energy contra dance band, Vertical Expression, making their Manhattan debut.
