A modern take on an old classic can be risky business, and morphing a murder mystery into a comical farce sounds intriguing on the page. Micro sized casts have done wonders with Hitchcock's 'The 39 Steps' and Charles Ludlam's 'The Mystery of Irma Vep,' so it is no surprise that comic playwright Ken Ludwig, known best for his brilliant 'Lend Me A Tenor' should take a stab at the genre. His adaptation of the classic Sherlock Holmes mystery 'The Hound of The Baskervilles' has been shortened to 'BASKERVILLE' and opened last night at Shea's 710 Theatre. This production by MUSICALFARE unfortunately is high on hijinks and low on true comedy.

As the first production of American Repertory Theater of WNY's 2014-15 season about to kick-off with Michael John LaChiusa's musical HELLO AGAIN, Artie Award winning director, Jeffrey Coyle took time from a busy rehearsal schedule to answer a few questions about the production schedule to open on September 11th.
Coming off a historic 2013-14 seventh season, in which the company lead the Buffalo theater community with four Artie Awards for Theatrical Excellence and won its very first award for Best Musical Production, American Repertory Theater of WNY is proud to kick-off the 2014-15 season with a production of Michael John LaChiusa's HELLO AGAIN on September 11th and will run until October 4th.
