The Kavinoky Theatre to Open 28th Season with THE PRODUCERS
The Kavinoky Theatre, a professional theatre on the campus of D'Youville College, opens its 38th season with its production of THE PRODUCERS by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan.
Directed and Choreographed by Lynne Kurdziel Formato, this hilarious show revolutionized Broadway Musical Comedy. Based on the Academy Award-winning 1968 film of the same name, this Mel Brooks masterpiece has been hailed as one of, if not THE funniest Broadway Musicals of all time. This new Broadway classic is filled with a riotous mix of eccentric characters and show-stopping production numbers.
Director/Choreographer Lynne Kurdziel Formato has assembled a cast of some of Buffalo's finest musical theatre performers: Norm Sham as Max Bialystock, Brian Mysliwy as Leo Bloom, Arianne Davidow as Ulla, Greg Gjurich as Roger DeBris, Marc Sacco as Carmen Ghia, Todd Benzin as Franz Liebkind and an ensemble of 14 who play everything from little old ladies to showgirls.
Performances begin Friday, September 8th and run thru Sunday, October 1st. Show times are as follows: Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. The gala opening night performance will be held on Friday, September 8th at 7:30 p.m. and includes a reception with the cast following the performance.
