SWEENEY TODD Opens at the Kavinoky in September

The Kavinoky Theatre, a professional theatre on the campus of D'Youville College, opens its 39th season with the classic musical SWEENEY TODD: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street by Stephen Sondheim & Hugh Wheeler.

With 8 Tonys under its belt, SWEENEY TODD has become a bloody, dramatic, yet funny musical theatre classic. The infamous tale of the revenge seeking "Demon Barber of Fleet Street" has shocked and awed audiences across the world.

Director John Fredo and Musical Director Alan Paglia have assembled a cast of some of Buffalo's finest musical theatre talent which includes Matt Witten as Sweeney Todd, Loraine O'Donnell as Mrs. Lovett, Aleks Malejs as the Beggar Woman, and Peter Palmisano as Judge Turpin; with Leah Berst, Anthony Lazzaro, Bill Lovern, Marc Sacco, Charmagne Chi, Kelly Copps, Lucas Denies, Adam Eckmair, Karen Harty, Dudney Joseph, Ben Moran, Bob Mazierski, Derek Moran, and Steve Heatley.

Performances for this four week engagement (September 7th -30th) will take place on Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. The gala opening night performance will be held on Friday, September 7th at 7:30 p.m. and includes a catered wine reception with the cast following the performance.
