The Lambs has announced the launch of a multi-year program of conservation and preservation of its large art collection, a first step as the private club prepares to celebrate its sesquicentennial in December 2024. On August 11th, The Lambs welcomes back five pieces to its clubhouse at 3 West 51st Street, it's home for 45 years.

At a 'Monday Night at The Lambs,' The Lambs - in conjunction with Harvardwood - held an evening with special guest Anita Gillette. Anita spoke about her long and varied career in theater, film and television, recalling many personal moments along the way. Interviewed by Foster Hirsch, author of 16 books on theater and film and professor at Brooklyn College, Anita shared many of her experiences from her lengthy and impressive career, which includes 14 Broadway shows. Accompanied by pianist Paul Greenwood, Anita performed several songs to the enthusiastic audience. She spoke about the many people she has worked with, including Lambs' members Irving Berlin and Hal Prince.

The Lambs, America's first professional theater club and one of the three oldest professional theatrical organizations in the US, honored Stephen Schwartz at a Shepherd's luncheon.

In the early 1930's, The Lambs created 2-reel comedy short films with Columbia Pictures. These shorts were created as a means to raise fund for the Club during the Great Depression. Most of these films have never been seen in almost a century. The films offer a rare historical look at The Lambs, its famous members and activities. The presentation included: Shave it with Music (1932), The Curse of the Broken Heart (1933), Poor Fish (1933) and Hear'em and Weep (1931).

Pasadena Playhouse's vibrant re-thinking of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's masterpiece, 'Ragtime' is a triumph of innovation and imagination. The show has been extended until March 7.

Shannon Warne (Mother) and Marc Baron Ginsburg (Tateh) talk about playing these 'kill for' roles in 'Ragtime,' a show that reflects as much about themes like racism, immigration, and vigilantism in today's society as it did at the time the story takes place.

Actors' Equity Foundation is thrilled to announce an annual gift from The Lambs Foundation for its educational programs, to be called The Lambs Foundation Glascock Award, in recognition of Scott Glascock, a member of The Lambs and Actors' Equity. This grant is in recognition of the 105-year historical connection between The Lambs and Actors' Equity.

Earlier this season Frank Calo and All Out Arts in conjunction with The Wild Project presented an LGBT Film Event as part of the Fresh Fruit Festival: a reading of Johnny B. Dunn's new screenplay, FREE RANGE.

The Grant is in recognition of the 105-year history of The Lambs with Actors' Equity.

5-STAR THEATRICALS (formerly Cabrillo Music Theatre) opens its 2018-2019 season with the Thousand Oaks premiere of SHREK THE MUSICAL, with music by Jeanine Tesori, book & lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, musical direction by Dan Redfeld, choreography by Karl Warden and will be directed by Kirsten Chandler. SHREK THE MUSICAL opens on Friday, October 19, 2018 and runs through Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.

Two-time Emmy Award winning actor Loretta Swit was made an Honorary Member of The Lambs in recognition for his outstanding career in television theater and film, and for her charitable work with multiple organizations and as an animal rights activist. Past honorees include Matthew Broderick, Jim Dale and the late Ken Howard.

The Lambs and The Lambs Foundation pride themselves in creating an atmosphere that encourages the creative spirit by providing a "place where they come to enjoy each others' company, and to display and hone their crafts in an atmosphere of creativity and support, and to nurture creative endeavors." That's part of our mission statement. Last night, June 26, 2018, was a perfect example when a staged reading of The Neverwuzez went up before a packed house at The Lambs.
