Casting is complete for SUMMER SHORTS 2017, produced by Throughline Artists at 59E59 Theaters. SUMMER SHORTS 2017 begins on Friday, July 21 and runs through Saturday, September 2.

An emotionally harrowing journey, DEAR EVAN HANSEN is a story that's hits home for a lot of its audience members. At the helm of this production is Michael Greif, who earned a Tony nomination for Best Director of a Musical for his part in bringing this story to life. Below, watch as he tries to remember when he first realized he wanted to be a director, and explain what it's like to constantly live in the world of DEAR EVAN HANSEN! 

Director Michael Greif, who has directed seminal Broadway musicals including Rent, Next to Normal, Grey Gardens and many more, just received a Sardi's portrait to celebrate his career and work on Broadway directing this season's new musicals Dear Evan Hansen and War Paint. The casts from both of his shows came out to celebrate the occasion and BroadwayWorld was there!

The searing new play Sweat begins previews on Broadway tomorrow Saturday, March 4 at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). Following a sold out, critically acclaimed engagement at New York's Public Theater, Sweat, the new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage, directed by Kate Whoriskey will officially open on Broadway on March 26, 2017.

ALEXANDER DINELARIS is an Academy Award and Golden Globe winner for the screenplay of Birdman (or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). He is the co-creator and executive producer of the series 'The One Percent' for Starz. He is currently adapting the novel Entering Hades into a feature film with Michael Fassbender. His film The Year of the Monarchs is currently in development with Mandalay Entertainment.

Caiola Productions is pleased to announce a private reading of the new musical CAPONE. CAPONE stars Danny Aiello with book, music and lyrics by Robert Mitchell and directed by Alexander Dinelaris. The reading will be this Friday, November 18th.

Broadwayworld.com interviewed Leslie Ayvazian who wrote Out of the City, now showing at Passage Theatre Company in Trenton. Directed by Murphy Davis, Ayvazian also plays Carol in the show.

INTAR (Lou Moreno, Artistic Director/John McCormack, Executive Director) is proud to announce that the acclaimed world premiere of THE MAIDS by Jose Rivera, adapted from the play by Jean Genet, will extend until October 30th.  Daniel Irizarry directs a cast that features Laura Butler Rivera, Daniel Irizarry, Charlie Munn, Casey Robinson, and Folami Williams.  THE MAIDS by Jose Rivera is presented in association with One-Eighth Theater (founded by its Artistic Directors Daniel Irizarry and Laura Butler Rivera), which is continuing its residency at INTAR Theatre.  THE MAIDS was developed, in part, with assistance from the Orchard Project, a program of The Exchange (Ari Edelson, Artistic Director Dean Strober, Executive Director, www.exchangenyc.org).
