Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF) announced today that it will be casting the final roles for A Doll's House from the local community.

First reported exclusively by BroadwayWorld.com on Tuesday, the producers of the new musical BONNIE & CLYDE have announced that the show as the first new musical to open this fall on Broadway. It will play at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street), beginning previews on Friday, November 4th and opening on Thursday, December 1st. BONNIE & CLYDE has direction by JEFF CALHOUN, music by FRANK WILDHORN, lyrics by DON BLACK, book by IVAN MENCHELL and music supervision/orchestrations/arrangements by JOHN McDANIEL.

Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announced today additional casting for the Main Stage productions for the 2011 Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF), the company's 57th season and the first under Ms. Gersten's leadership.

John Glover, Marin Mazzie, Joyce DiDonato, Malcolm Gets, Emily Skinner, Alexandra Silber, Bobby Steggert, Jason Danieley, Stephen Bogardus, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Barbara Walsh rounded out the evening. The La Jolla Playhouse is presenting a world premiere musical based on the 2006 Academy Award winning film "Little Miss Sunshine". And while the show had its shining moments and a cast that matched the subtlety and charm of the original sleeper hit, on the whole it needs a bit of a jump start if it's going to make it down the road to Broadway.

Helen Stenborg, a Tony-nominated, Obie Award-winning actress and long-time spouse of the late Tony Award-winning actor Barnard Hughes, died Tuesday evening, March 22 at her Manhattan apartment. Her son Doug Hughes and daughter Laura Hughes were at her bedside. She was 86.

The 2006 movie dramedy Little Miss Sunshine was and still remains such a low-key charmer that to attempt to simulate it on stage with music is at once challenging, courageous and perplexing. Why? Why retell a story that is so perfect on film unless you can achieve a brand new and interesting take on it? I guess Spider-Man and other films being translated to the stage is the rage these days, especially when there's a dearth of original musicals. All this aside, the production values, the cast and the very artistic endeavor of the stage musical Little Miss Sunshine, now at the Mandell Weiss Theatre of La Jolla Playhouse through March 27, should be lauded and appreciated.

The production runs through March 27, 2011 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre.
