Returning for its 17th season, Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook will continue to broaden its scope in celebrating the best in American singing and songwriting as interpreted by top performers and rising stars, with events at three Lincoln Center venues.

SYLVIA, a play by two-time Pulitzer Prize-nominee A.R. Gurney (The Dining Room, Love Letters) and directed by Tony Award-winner Daniel Sullivan (Proof) opens on Broadway tonight, October 27, 2015. Let's see what the critics had to say...

Beginning Monday, November 2, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts will offer free admission to guests bringing nonperishable food items to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee on Mondays through December. The items most needed by Second Harvest this year are peanut butter, canned chicken or tuna, canned vegetables, canned fruit, pasta and cereal. Since 2012, visitors to the Frist Center have contributed 12,012 pounds of donated food, which equates to 10,009 meals.

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's iconic seven-time Tony Award-winning rock opera tells the story of Argentine political leader, Eva Peron, the second wife of Argentine president Juan Peron. We follow Evita's early life, rise to power, charity work, illness and death by cancer at the youthful age of 33. The musical began as a rock opera concept album released in 1976, and it was the first British musical to receive the Tony Award for Best Musical.

The producers of Amazing Grace just announced that DMI Soundtracks will record the Broadway cast album of Amazing Grace on Monday, November 2nd. The album will be available in January, 2016. The recording will be produced and engineered by six-time Grammy Award winner Frank Filipetti. The tracklist for the digital album and CD is as follows:

Telly Leung, star of this season's new Broadway musical ALLEGIANCE opposite George Takei and Lea Salonga, will release a new album via Yellow Sound Label. SONGS FOR YOU will be released on Friday, November 20, with the lead single 'New York State of Mind' available today, October 23.

Some performers push the envelope. In the case of Kim David Smith, no avant-garde, gender-bending, or mainstream artist dancing in the cabaret arena today takes more risks. Never was this more in evidence than in his brand new show, Stargazing at Joe's Pub on October 8. Few artists work harder to express themselves through the increasingly visible alt-cabaret genre than Smith. He doesn't just break glass ceilings he crashes them with a jackhammer. To accomplish this, he seamlessly re-imagines Weimar-era, neo-classicism and Berlin-channeling cabaret at every turn the likes of which have not been seen since Marlene Dietrich in the 1930 film, The Blue Angel.

What a time for Music Theatre of Connecticut to revive this musical, bringing the 'circus' that is how we the people view seemingly larger-than-life characters into its snug Norwalk space.

 RFD -TV is teaming up with Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy to bring the We've Been Thinking Tour to Detroit for an unforgettable night of comedy. Due to popular demand, a second performance has been added. The two superstar comedians will now perform two shows at the Fox Theatre tonight, October 17 at 5 p.m. and the previously announced 8 p.m show. Previews are set for October 14 and 15, and opening night is tonight, October 16 at ICT's newly renovated home in the Long Beach Performing Arts Center.

The 2015-2016 season at the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is a nonstop series of performances by show biz legends and super-hot headliners from Broadway to Hollywood, from the TV screen to many of the world's hottest nightclubs and most impressive concert stages. In addition to legendary singers, actors, magicians and more, the Kravis Center is also presenting some of the world's most exciting and highly acclaimed dancers and dance companies.

Andrea del Sarto's Borgherini Holy Family, a focused exhibition that will present new findings on the Metropolitan Museum's Holy Family with the Young Saint John the Baptist, one of the Museum's greatest works of the Italian Renaissance, will open on October 14, 2015. That painting will be shown alongside Charity(before 1530), a closely related panel by the artist that will be on loan from the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.  The exhibition will allow visitors to follow the artist's approach as he moved from drawings on paper to the preparatory underdrawings on the panels, and then to the final paintings, emphasizing the crucial role of drawings and cartoons in his workshop. Other related works, including a Madonna and Child panel by Andrea del Sarto from a private collection, will also be on view. The exhibition will complement Andrea del Sarto: The Renaissance Workshop in Action, a more extensive exhibition surveying the artist's work, currently on view at The Frick Collection.   

A pop culture, trivia-based game show, EASIEST GAME SHOW EVER, will head into production on Oct. 19 on Pop with 20 episodes.

Theatre Palisades presents the first Los Angeles production of "The Game's Afoot or Holmes For The Holidays" by Ken Ludwig, opening Friday, November 6, 2015 and running until Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Pierson Playhouse, located at 941 Temescal Canyon Road in Pacific Palisades, CA 90272. Directed by Gene Franklin Smith, "The Game's Afoot" is the winner of the Mystery Writers of America's 2012 Edgar Award for Best Play. Nona Hale and Pat Perkins produce for Theatre Palisades by permission from Samuel French. Featured in the cast (in alphabetical order) are Gail Bernardi, Matthew Godfrey, Nicole Knudsen, James Lujan, John Mawson, Maria Pavone, Maggie Peach, and Andi Wagner.

Dixon Place's commission tiger tiger (on the nature of violence) written and directed by playwright Jessica Almasy, will have its world premiere on Friday, November 6th at 7:30 PM.  The music is composed by Dan Veksler in collaboration with Ms. Almasy. tiger tiger (on the nature of violence) will play six performances only - November 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st at 7:30PM, at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street).
