This summer, audiences can enjoy FREE entertainment at Piedmont Park! Horizon Theatre's comedic adaptation of Freaky Friday will return to the stage at Piedmont Park for a limited engagement from June 20-23, with all performances beginning at 7:30 p.m. Families and kids of all ages are encouraged to pack a picnic and enjoy the delightfully spunky musical based off of the popular Disney movies. Past Horizon Theatre shows at Piedmont Park include Nobody Loves You (2017), The Toxic Avenger (2016) and Avenue Q (2015).

In two weeks, the 49th Annual Nashville Film Festival will commence with 10 days of can't miss screenings and events. In addition to the previously announced films being shown, the following have been added to the lineup:

Showcasing an array of hit songwriters and emerging artists, The Studio at Opry City Stage has announced a pair of intimate performances by Grammy award-winning R&B and soul singer Macy Gray on May 23 and 24. With a new album set for release later this year, and having recently wrapped up a project with the legendary Dolly Parton, Macy Gray will perform a selection of her greatest hits as well as music from her recent critically-acclaimed albums.

The 49th Annual Nashville Film Festival continues its announcement of incredible star-power participation with acclaimed actor and director Colin Hanks confirmed to attend a special screening of his acclaimed 2015 Tower Records documentary All Things Must Pass followed by an intimate Q&A. This marks the Nashville premiere of the documentary which explores the rise and fall of Tower Records and its legacy forged by its founder Russ Solomon and its place in the music industry. The special screening will take place at on Thursday, May 17 (7 pm) at Regal Hollywood 27, tickets will be available for individual purchase to NashFilm members on Monday, April 16 and to the public on Wednesday, April 18. General Admission tickets will be $15.

Long Beach native, and duly dubbed King of B-Boy Soul, DemO, is back with his newly released 3rd studio album of pure unadulterated soul music, SOULSHOW MEDIA, on his label, Merciless Muzik. Singer, songwriter, producer and label CEO DemO is giving Millennials an understanding and journey into the soul of a B-Boy with this 13-song status update on society, life, love, and relationships.

Capital Stage and American Stage come together to share resources, artists, and talent for this production of Marjorie Prime by Jordan Harrison, who also wrote Maple & Vine, and writes for the Netflix Original Series Orange Is The New Black. Marjorie Prime was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 2015 and is directed by Capital Stage's own Founding Artistic Director, Stephanie Gularte. The production stars Capital Stage Associate Artists Janis Stevens (August: Osage County, Macbeth, Master Class) and Jamie Jones (August: Osage County, The Totalitarians, Tribes, Dinner with Friends). Stephanie Gularte founded Capital Stage in 2004, and served as Artistic Director for 10 years. She has now put together a creative team including both American Stage and Capital Stage artists for this production, which will have a run both in St. Pete (March 7 - April 1), as well as in Sacramento at Capital Stage (May 2 - June 3). Press Opening at Capital Stage will be Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 8:00 pm. 

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) is proud to announce casting for the New York premiere production of The Great Leap, written by Lauren Yee and directed by Taibi Magar.

KRYSTAL is an ensemble comedic drama about Taylor Ogburn, a young sheltered man from the South with a strange heart condition. Because of his ailment, he can't go to college - let alone drink or do drugs or experience life in any real way. Upon meeting the woman of his dreams - an ex-hooker-stripper-junkie-alcoholic with a sixteen year old son in a wheelchair - Taylor pretends to be in AA to try and woo her. His fabulously talented family (who perhaps actually belong in AA) not surprisingly have a thing or two to say about Taylor falling for this beguiling and unpredictable woman. Past transgressions smash head on with young love, causing complications for everyone involved but In order to have even a hint of a chance to come out the other side, Taylor must face his own demons and learn what it means to live without fear and finally become a man.

Today, New York Times Best Selling Author Team Christina Lauren release their latest novel, LOVE AND OTHER WORDS. BroadwayWorld recently reviewed the duo's novel ROOMIES, centered around musicals and Broadway, as well as sat down to chat with them about the musical they created for ROOMIES.

The 49th Annual Nashville Film Festival continues its rollout of film announcements with the seven selected Documentary Special Presentations that include the World Premiere of James Keach's Turning Point. Music journeys will also be depicted in The King, starring Alec Baldwin, Tony Brown, Chuck D, Emmylou Harris, Ethan Hawke and Radney Foster, It All Begins with a Song and Sammy Davis Jr.: I've Got To Be Me, starring Sammy Davis Jr., Harry Belafonte, Tony Bennett, Diahann Carroll, Billy Crystal and Quincy Jones. The 2018 Documentary Special Presentations will also include the Tennessee Premiere of Hal, starring Jane Fonda, Jeff Bridges, Jon Voight, Judd Apatow and Rosanna Arquette and the Southeast US Premiere of One Vote starring Warren Buffett.

4th Wall Theatre Company's 2017 - 2018 season wraps up with the regional premiere of Suzanne Bradbeer's hilarious comedy, Shakespeare in Vegas May 17 - June 9, 2018, at Studio 101, Spring Street Studios, 1824 Spring Street, Houston, TX 77007. 4th Wall offered a staged reading of the play during its 2017 "4th Wall Reads: Women's Voices" series. 4th Wall audiences will remember Bradbeer's work from the 2014 production of her political drama, The God Game.

The 49th Annual Nashville Film Festival continues its expansion of film screenings with an international roster of twenty-eight Special Presentations, Animated Feature, Spectrum and Spectrum Q films including the world premiere of BENCHED, produced by Robert Deaton and George Flanigen, ON CHESIL BEACH, starring Saoirse Ronan, fresh off her award winning role in Lady Bird, HOT SUMMER NIGHTS, starring Timothée Chalamet, whose role in Call Me By Your Name was critically acclaimed, BRAMPTON'S OWN, starring Rose McIver, Spencer Grammer and Jean Smart, as well as the 50th anniversary screening of ROSEMARY'S BABY, starring Mia Farrow, and a special screening of JURASSIC PARK, starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough, BD Wong and Samuel L. Jackson. Other leading talent include Daveed Diggs, Alexander McQueen, John C. McGinley and many more.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 120 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 9-14, 2018 in multiple locations throughout the Center. The Center also announced the national awardees for the KCACTF.

 On the heels of announcing that Steven Tyler's documentary OUT ON A LIMB would open the 49th Annual Nashville Film Festival, the festival continued its lineup of major talent participation with today's announcement of the Music Films/Music City Selections for the 2018 Festival (May 10-19, 2018). Films featuring artists as diverse as David Letterman, Ronnie and Johnny Van Zant, Brian “Head” Welch of KoRn, The Edge and Al Sharpton are included in this competition of films about music, musicians and the impact music has on our lives.

The 49th Annual Nashville Film Festival continues its rollout of film announcements with the seven selected Tennessee First films that include the World Premiere of Other Versions of You and Straight Up: Kentucky Bourbon as well as the Southeast US Premiere of Triumph starring and narrated by Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker.

This month, INTO THE WOODS returned to New York for a sold out run at The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater at the west side Y. INTO THE WOODS JR was produced by the Broadway Workshop and Project Broadway as their 2018 Junior Main Stage. Scroll down for photos of the cast in action!

 Bravo Media sets sail for high sea adventures with season three of “Below Deck Mediterranean” premiering Tuesday, May 15 at 9pm ET/PT. This season cruises through scenic Italy, one of the most historic and desired yachting locations in the Mediterranean. Captain Sandy Yawn is once again at the helm of the 178' “Talisman Maiton,” the largest superyacht in Below Deck history. Joining Captain Sandy from last season are Hannah Ferrier (Chief Stew) and Adam Glick (Chef), along with a new set of “yachties” Brooke Laughton (Second Stew), Kasey Cohen (Third Stew), Conrad Empson (Bosun), Joao Franco (Lead Deckhand), Colin Macy-O'Toole(Deckhand) and Jamie Jason (Deckhand).
