An all-star line-up of Broadway performers united to honor legendary composer, Stephen Sondheim. The evening celebrated the journey of Woods and Sondheim from stage to screen. Film talent in attendance included actors Billy Magnussen, Lilla Crawford and MacKenzie Mauzy. Rob Marshall ('Chicago,' 'Pirates of the Caribbean') helms the long overdue film adaptation of the 1987 Tony Award-winning musical INTO THE WOODS, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim ('Sweeney Todd,' 'Assassins') and book--now a moderately revised screenplay--by James Lapine ('Passion,' Falsettos').

As readers of BroadwayWorld.com will know, Stephen Sondheim's new song written for Meryl Streep to sing in the movie, 'She'll Be Back,' was shot, but later cut after an early preview. The good news is that the song will appear on the film's DVD, and the even better news is that sheet music has been released today for purchase!

In New York, Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski and Tracey Ullman performed a surprise musical number before presenting Emmy Award-winning director Rob Marshall (Into the Woods) with the Casting Society of America's 2015 New York City Apple Award at this year's Artios Awards.
