The Flea Theater presents the New York premiere of Restoration Comedy by Pultizer Prize-finalist Amy Freed. It will be directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar, a 2012 Drama Desk Award nominee for These Seven Sicknesses, and stars The Bats, the resident Acting Company at The Flea. The Flea Theater announced today that Obie and Drama Desk Award winner Deirdre O'Connell has joined the cast of World Premiere of THE VANDAL by Hamish Linklater (TV's The New Adventures of Old Christine). Tickets to the American premiere of Nature Theater of Oklahoma's epic serial Life and Times: Episodes 1-4-a Soho Rep production presented by The Public Theater as a special engagement of the Under the Radar Festival 2013-are now on sale. Soho Rep's Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Cynthia Flowers as Executive Director. Ms. Flowers officially starts the position this week.

After a successful run at The Flea, the theater has announced the extension of the U.S. Premiere of I HATE F*CKING MEXICANS by Luis Enrique Gutierrez Ortiz Monasterio "the enfant terrible of contemporary Mexican theater." Translated by Debbie Saivetz, Ana Graham, and Danya Taymor and directed by Ms. Taymor, a Flea Resident Director; the production features members of The Bats and The Riot Group's Adriano Shapman. Previews began October 9, with opening night on October 18. The show is now extended with limited performances through December 11.

The BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange arts and artists in progress awards, now in their twelfth year, have been designed to honor individuals in the arts who have revealed and transformed our creative world. By instigating and enduring change they have deepened the definition of their field and paved the way for others. The awards have been given to some of the most talented, generous, creative and inventive individuals in NYC dance, theater or performance. Nominations for the 2013 awards were sought from over 100 past awardees, presenters and members of the field. Final selections will be announced no later than November 1, 2012.

Performance Space 122 and The Chocolate Factory present the world premiere of ICH, KÜRBISGEIST from Big Dance Theater and playwright Sibyl Kempson. Blending performance, text, dances and visual design, Big Dance Theater installs Kempson's play into The Chocolate Factory's crypt-like basement for an audience of just 30 per show.
