The city of Loudon, unlike most of the country, is at peace. While religious wars swept the country and kept the Protestants and the Catholics at each others' throats, the sects live and have lived together without incident in the city for years, primarily due to the charismatic priest Father Urbain Grandier, who acts as a kind of second Governor of the town, loved and respected (despite his frequent and well-known personal transgressions, mostly involving the women of Loudon), but also due to its secure battlements, which keep the city separate and self-sustaining (and whose security has been guaranteed by King Louis the XIII).

Half Straddle, a New York based experimental theater company, follows up their critically-acclaimed show, FAMILY (A Top 10 of 2009 by Time Out New York), with Nurses in New England, an intimate, unexpected look at a coastal New England hospital run entirely by nurses, July 28 - 31, 7 p.m. presented by Soho Think Tank's Ice Factory 2010, at the Ohio Theatre 66 Wooster St. Tickets are $15 General Admission, $10 Students & Seniors.

The fifth-annual Bring a Weasel and a Pint of Your Own Blood Festival is excited to present three original plays and a short film at the East 13th Street Theater from July 28th to July 30th.

Formerly a project of the Ontological-Hysteric Theater, the Incubator Arts Project supports independent, experimental performing artists through a series of programs aimed at offering production opportunities and guidance with long-term growth and artistic sustainability. AF PRODUCTIONS presents the world premiere production of Anna Fishbeyn's SEX IN MOMMYVILLE, directed by Sane Shurin. SEX IN MOMMYVILLE will play a limited engagement at The Flea (41 White Street, TriBeCa). Performances begin Wednesday, August 18 and continue thru Sunday, August 29. The Playwrights' Center of Minneapolis named the recipients of the 2010-11 McKnight National Residency and Commission (Taylor Mac), McKnight Advancement Grants (Mat Smart and Deborah Stein), and McKnight Theater Artist Fellowships (Annie Enneking, Masanari Kawahara, and Robert Rosen) on June 7, 2010. The three programs provide nearly $150,000 in grants and artistic support funds and are underwritten by the Minneapolis-based McKnight Foundation.
