Arena Stage journeys into the mind of design scientist R. Buckminster Fuller in R. Buckminster Fuller: THE HISTORY (and Mystery) OF THE UNIVERSE. Playwright and director D.W. Jacobs (co-founder of the San Diego Repertory Theatre) takes audiences on an exploration of the man who is regarded as the father of the green movement, the da Vinci of the 20th century, America's first engineering saint and P.R. Man to the Universe.

Half Straddle, experimental theater company, performs favorite songs from their recent productions in an all-girl band line-up at Union Hall in Park Slope, 702 Union Street at 5th Avenue on Thursday, June 10 at 7:30 pm. New Dramatists, Tony Honor recipient and one of the nation's premiere playwright development workshop, honored two-time Tony Award winner Julie Taymor with their 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 61st Annual Spring Luncheon tribute, to be held Tuesday, May 18th at the New York Marriott Marquis. Ms. Taymor's award was presented to her by Academy Award winning actress Helen Mirren, who stars in Taymor's soon-to-be-released film adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest. Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatricals served as the Luncheon Chair. Disney Theatricals and Robert Boyett were the benefactors for New Dramatists 61st Annual Spring Luncheon.

BLOODSONG OF LOVE, which was commissioned and developed by Ars Nova, began previews on April 1st prior to an official press opening of April 15th at Ars Nova (511 West 54th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues) in Manhattan.

Long Wharf Theatre Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein follows up his triumphant re-examination of The Glass Menagerie and his exploration of the new works of Athol Fugard with his adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House, running on the Mainstage from April 28 through May 23.
