Projected to open in 2019, The Shed features a retractable shell that can create an indoor performance space or an outdoor plaza.

Alex Poots, Founding Artistic Director and CEO of The Shed, today announced that New York's new center for artistic invention will launch the first two of a series of pre-opening initiatives.

 In partnership with Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival and the Berkshire Museum, D.R.E.A.M. RING is now accepting applications for the Friday, July 22 street dance competition at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, MA. The deadline to apply is July 15, 2016.

A cast of 200 includes members of New York community organizations and performing arts groups.

This weekend, director Lear deBessonet and composer Todd Almond's adaptaion of Homer's The Odyssey marks the third year the Public Theater's Public Works hits Central Park's Delacorte Theater with a brand new musical spectacular based on a classic piece of literature, mixing the talents of a handful of Equity actors with performing arts groups and community organizations from throughout New York's five boroughs. The Barnstable Comedy Club in Barnstable will present Moon Over Buffalo, a comedy by Ken Ludwig.

New reality series REMODELED will now have a special premiere on Tuesday, January 17 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET), following the return of 90210 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET).
