United States Artists (USA) is thrilled to announce its 2019 USA Fellows. This year, 45 artists and collectives working across disciplines will each receive an unrestricted $50,000 cash award.

The American Theatre Wing and The Village Voice announce that Tony Award-nominated and three-time Obie-winning actress Kathleen Chalfant will receive a special Obie Award for Lifetime Achievement at the 63rd Annual Obie Awards.

Due to overwhelmingly strong ticket sales, the critically acclaimed production of Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song has added one final week of performances, announced Second Stage Theater (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Casey Reitz, Executive Director). The production will now play through Saturday, December 9 and will not be able to extend further.

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced its 2017-18 Artists in Residence. 'I started the Artists in Residence program about 25 years ago to provide artistic and financial support to early-career artists, giving them a theatre to call home and to provide peace of mind for a sustainable career,' says Roundabout Artistic Director Todd Haimes. 'Over the years, this program has evolved to include playwrights, mid-career directors and even an entire young company. The NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, New York City Council, Manhattan Borough President's Office, and Second Stage Theater today announced that the renovation of the historic Hayes Theater in Midtown Manhattan received $2.35 million in new funding added in this year's City budget.

Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song was recently extended for two additional weeks of performances at Second Stage Theater and will now play through Sunday, December 3. Directed by Mois s Kaufman, Torch Song begins previews tonight, September 26, and officially opens on October 19 at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theater (305 West 43rd Street).
