Named for longtime Premiere Stages supporters W. John Bauer and Nancy Boucher, the Bauer-Boucher Award honors the work of gifted Kean student and alumni playwrights. The award is presented in conjunction with the one-day developmental Bauer-Boucher Kean Student/Alumni Reading, which affords the selected playwright the opportunity to hear his or her work read aloud by professional actors at Kean. This year's reading, taking place on January 23 at 3:20pm in the Miron Student Center Little Theatre on the Kean campus, will feature Mr. Marshall's Incident at Willow Creek. In this compelling and timely new work, Verite, an African American college professor, questions her neutral stance on guns after a troubling incident results in the killing of an innocent black man.
