There's Magic in the House

Steep Theatre will present the Midwest Premiere of Irish playwright Ross Dungan's The Life and Sort of Death of Eric Argyle. Steep Artistic Associate and Jeff Award-winning director Jonathan Berry returns to Steep to direct Dungan's heart-warming and magical exploration of lives lived without regret. Steep and Berry have racked up an impressive string of Midwest premieres, including last year's If There is I Haven't Found It Yet and past hits The Knowledge, Moment and Festen. The Life and Sort of Death of Eric Argyle opens at Steep Theatre on Thursday, January 22.

Steppenwolf for Young Adults' (SYA) first production of its 2014/15 season is George Orwell's Animal Farm, a world premiere adaptation by Althos Low. SYA's Artistic and Educational Director Hallie Gordon directs the production in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre. The SYA 2014/15 season explores the theme, 'Create a Movement: The Art of Revolution.' Animal Farm runs October 15 - November 9, 2014; the press performance is on Saturday, October 18 at 3pm. Performances Tuesday through Friday at 10am are reserved for school groups only; public performances are scheduled Friday at 7:30pm (except October 17), Saturday at 3 and 7:30pm and Sunday at 3pm.
