Tony Award nominee BRIAN D'ARCY JAMES will return to the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical Next to Normal for a special limited engagement beginning Monday, May 17 at 8:00p.m. Mr. d'Arcy James originated the role of Dan Goodman in the Second Stage Theatre off-Broadway production of the acclaimed musical. J. Robert Spencer, who was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in the role, will give his final performance on Sunday, May 16 at 7:30p.m.

Deadline.com is reporting that Sting and NEXT TO NORMAL's Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and lyricist Brian Yorkey. Few details on the nature of the show have been revealed, however it is believed that it is inspired by Sting's memoir, Broken Music. The show, however, is allegedly not a autobiographical. No word on whether or not the score would be original.

The New York Times confirms today that former President Bill Clinton, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, their daughter, Chelsea, her fiancé, Marc Mezvinsky, attended the matinee of NEXT TO NORMAL on Saturday afternoon at the Booth Theater, along with a few secret service agents.

Monday's New York Times is reporting that Broadway's Next to Normal has joined the 25-30 percent of Broadway shows that have earned back the show's initial investment. The show marked it's one-year anniversary last night (Saturday) as it it prepares for a national tour that begins in November, producers announced that the show has earned back it's full $4 million in capitalization.

According to a new season announcement from Broadway/San Diego, a National tour of the Broadway sensation 'Next To Normal' is headed to the Balboa Theatre in downtown San Diego for a limited engagement run from January 18 to 23, 2011. The announcement from Broadway/San Diego reads, 'And don't miss NEXT TO NORMAL; a thrilling emotional powerhouse about a loving family trying to take care of themselves and each other; the acclaimed, groundbreaking musical "that pushes Broadway in new directions" (Rolling Stone)."

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that come next month, Broadway's NEXT TO NORMAL may welcome a new, real life couple into the roles of Diana and Dan. Sarah Uriarte Berry (The Light in the Piazza, Taboo), is now preparing to understudy Diana when regular understudy Jessica Phillips is on vacation the week of February 15. The role of Diana will continue to be played by Tony-winner Alice Ripley. Her husband, Michael Berry, currently understudies Dan and Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine. If all aligns, the couple could appear opposite one another during that week.

The 168 page songbook of piano and vocal selections for the Tony Award-winning musical 'Next to Normal' is now available in stores and online. Issued by Alfred Music Publishing, the book features 26 songs from the musical including, "I Miss the Mountains," "Everything Else," "You Don't Know," "I Am the One," "Superboy and the Invisible Girl," "I'm Alive," "I've Been, "Didn't I See This Movie," "Hey," "Maybe (Next to Normal)," "So Anyway" and "Light." Aaron Tveit left the Tony-nominated musical Next to Normal on January 4 and the role of Gabe is now being performed by Kyle Dean Massey. Massey previously played the role during Tveit's summer absence from June - September, while he was starring in Catch Me If You Can.
