The City of Paris has captured imaginations and inspired artists of all disciplines for generations. The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and French conductor Yan Pascal Tortelier take audiences to this magical city during the BNY Mellon Grand Classics Weekend, "Bolero!" on March 17-19 at Heinz Hall.
This April, Principal Conductor Valery Gergievconducts the Munich Philharmonic Orchestrain two concerts at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. On Monday, April 3 at 8:00 p.m., the orchestra performs Ravel'sLa valse and Piano Concerto in G Major withPierre-Laurent Aimard, alongside Beethoven's Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major, Op. 55, 'Eroica." This concert is being broadcast live on Classical 105.9 FM WQXR, and streamed onwqxr.org and carnegiehall.org/wqxr as part of the Carnegie Hall Live series. It will be heard later this year on radio stations across the country through the WFMT Radio Network.
In the final subscription concerts of his tenure as Music Director, Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic joined by musicians from orchestras around the world in concerts celebrating the power of music to build bridges and unite people across borders.
