John Doble's A SERIOUS PERSON AND THEN SOME Set for MITF, Beg. Tonight

Emerging playwright John Doble, whose one-act plays COFFEE HOUSE, GREENWICH VILLAGE and A SERIOUS PERSON were Finalists for Best Play in 2012 and 2013 at Midwinter Madness and Manhattan Rep, respectively, will be represented at the 14th Annual Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival this summer with A SERIOUS PERSON AND THEN SOME, an evening of three one-act plays including A SERIOUS PERSON and COFFEE HOUSE, GREENWICH VILLAGE, as well as TATYANA AND THE CABLE MAN. Produced by Michael Palmer in association with the Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival, A SERIOUS PERSON AND THEN SOME will play five performances only beginning tonight, July 16th.

A SERIOUS PERSON -- a new play by John Doble, author of last year's popular play COFFEE HOUSE, GREENWICH VILLAGE - will debut at Manhattan Repertory Theatre's Winter One Act Play Competition with performances starting tonight, January 9 at Manhattan Repertory Theatre (303 West 42nd Street -6th Floor), in Manhattan. Olivia Harris, who directed Mr. Doble's COFFEE HOUSE, directs this newest play.

MARVELL REP opens the first production of its 6-play 2012 season this Sunday, Feb 5th at 7:30 PM with the NY Premiere of Arthur Schnitzler's previously banned "PROFESSOR BERNHARDI" featuring Sam Tsoutsouvas in the title role. Directed by Marvell's Artistic Director Lenny Leibowitz, the 2012 season is devoted to provocative and incendiary plays that have been burned and banned.
