Keenan Scott II, THOUGHTS OF A COLORED MAN Playwright, Selected as TED2021 Fellow

Playwright Keenan Scott II, whose new play Thoughts of a Colored Man will have its Broadway premiere at the Golden Theatre in the upcoming season, has been selected as a TED2021 Fellow, joining a class of 20 remarkable individuals who are collaborating across disciplines to spark positive change around the world. 

Westport Country Playhouse Presents Virtual STORY HOUR WITH JENNY

Westport Country Playhouse's “Story Hour with Jenny,” a live, virtual series to engage children, grades K-3, will present an interactive reading in English and Spanish of the picture book, “Maybe Something Beautiful: How Art Transformed a Neighborhood,” on Sunday, April 11, at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

San Diego Repertory Theatre Announces BLACK VOICES 2021 PLAY READING SERIES

San Diego Repertory Theatre has announced today the details of the brand new San Diego REP Black Voices 2021 Play Reading Series, a brand new program that will be presented in March and April, 2021. The series will consist of a selection of plays representing a diverse range of Black voices.

New York Stage and Film Announces NEXUS Initiative Artist Grants

New York Stage and Film has committed $100,000 to their new NEXUS Initiative that brings together 20 multihyphenate artists to explore the question “where does story exist at the intersection of stage and film?” Each participant receives $5,000 and will take part in a series of conversations focused on new and expanded forms of storytelling.

Dorset Theatre Festival Announces Commissioning & Fellowship Program and Welcomes Resident Artist Jade King Carroll

Dorset Theatre Festival has announced the launch of its new Commissioning and Fellowship Program, welcoming returning director Jade King Carroll as Resident Artist, who will design and oversee this program in collaboration with Artistic Director Dina Janis. Connecticut Repertory Theatre continues its 2020-21 virtual season with Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen by Tennessee Williams, directed by Dexter Singleton. CT Flagship Producing Theaters Respond To Governor's Grant Program To Support The Arts

Connecticut's Flagship Producing Theaters (CFPT) appreciate Governor Lamont's announcement today that the state will use $9 million in federal CARES Act funding to establish a new COVID Relief Fund for the Arts. This investment is vital to our efforts to survive the financial devastation caused by the pandemic, as ours were among the first businesses to close and will be last on the list to reopen.
