Main Street Theater to Host Staged Reading of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, 7/18-19

Main Street Theater presents a staged reading of a new musical adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, adapted by Jon Jory and with an original score by Peter Ekstrom. There are two performances: Saturday, July 18 at 7:30pm and Sunday, July 19 at 3pm at Chelsea Market, 4617 Montrose Blvd., Houston, TX 77006. All tickets are $10; seating is general admission. Rutina Wesley Leads TWELFTH NIGHT, Opening Tonight at The Old Globe

The Old Globe presents William Shakespeare's delightful and romantic Twelfth Night, directed by Rebecca Taichman, whose production of the time-traveling Time and the Conways fascinated audiences last April, as part of the 2015 Summer Shakespeare Festival. The Old Globe engagement runs through July 26, 2015, with opening night tonight, June 27 at 8:00 p.m., in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

Micah Stock, Emma Myles & More Set for White Heron Theatre's Reading of THE HARVEST

The White Heron Theatre Company today announced the cast for the reading of Samuel Hunter's new play, The Harvest, July 1 and 2 at 8 pm, at the Dreamland Theatre in Nantucket. The cast includes actors from Orange is the New Black, Ironwood, Mildred Pierce, Boardwalk Empire and the Sopranos not to mention numerous Broadway plays and projects including a Tony nomination for Its Only a Play.

Two-Time Tony Nominee to Join WICKED on Broadway as 'Madame Morrible'

Beginning performances Sunday, July 5th, Wicked will welcome two-time Tony and Emmy Award nominee MICHELE LEE in the role of Madame Morrible. A veteran of the stage and screen, she is perhaps best known for her fourteen seasons as Karen Mackenzie on the landmark CBS television drama, 'Knots Landing.'

California Shakespeare Theater continues its 2015 season with Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Nilo Cruz's powerfully-penned adaptation of Life Is a Dream, Pedro Calderon de la Barca's epic tale of love, power, and destiny, Life Is a Dream. Directed by Magic Theatre's Artistic Director Loretta Greco in her Cal Shakes debut, Life Is a Dream plays at the Bruns Amphitheater from July 8 through August 2.

Photo Flash: First Look at Westport Country Playhouse's AND A NIGHTINGALE SANG

Westport Country Playhouse will stage 'And a Nightingale Sang,' a love story surrounding a working-class British family during World War II. Written by C. P. Taylor, and directed by David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director, the play runs now through June 27. The title is based on the 1940s popular song, 'And a Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square,' which, among other music of the war years, is included in the play. Westport Country Playhouse to Host THE COUNTRY CLUB Reading, 6/22

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of 'The Country Club,' a wry comedy by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane, on Monday, June 22, at 7 p.m., followed by a post-performance 'Meet the Cast' reception in the courtyard. Director is Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each.

Babes With Blades Theatre Company Sets 2015-16 Season

Babes With Blades Theatre Company is proud to announce its 18th anniversary season, featuring two world premieres, written and directed by women. First up will be Patchwork Drifter by BWBTC Ensemble member Jennifer L. Mickelson, directed by BWBTC Artistic Director Leigh Barrett, followed by 180 Degree Rule by MEH Lewis and BWBTC Ensemble Member Barbara Lhota, directed by Chicago Dramatists Associate Artistic Director Rachel Edwards Harvith.
