The Old Globe's 2016 Summer Season Will Include Steve Martin's METEOR SHOWER, Plus Kathleen Marshall-Helmed LOVE'S LABOR'S LOST

The Old Globe today shared its 2016 Summer Season, which will feature new and familiar works directed by four major American stalwarts. The season features the welcome return of Steve Martin (Bright Star) with the World Premiere of his new play Meteor Shower, an adult comedy, directed by Gordon Edelstein, in a co-production with Long Wharf Theatre, where he serves as Artistic Director. Paul Gordon's musical Sense and Sensibility will have its West Coast premiere, presented in association with Chicago Shakespeare Theater, where it had its world premiere in February 2015, directed by CST Artistic Director Barbara Gaines. The Summer Shakespeare Festival will include Macbeth, directed by Brian Kulick, Artistic Director of Classic Stage Company, and Love's Labor's Lost, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall.

WIESENTHAL to Run 10/23-11/8 at The Wallis

Wiesenthal, the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production based on the life of Simon Wiesenthal, kicks off The Wallis' 2015-16 theater season in the Lovelace Studio Theater.  This provocative solo performance is written and performed by Tom Dugan and directed by Jenny Sullivan. Beginning Fri, Oct 23, Wiesenthal will run for 17performances only.  Opening night is Sat, Oct 24 at 8pm. 

Zachary Quinto Will Lead Noah Haidle's SMOKEFALL at MCC; Opens in February

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) has announced that Emmy® Award nominee Zachary Quinto will lead the cast of the New York premiere of Smokefall, by Noah Haidle and directed by Anne Kauffman, who directed The Nether for MCC last season to great acclaim. Smokefall continues MCC Theater's season at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street) with previews beginning February 4, 2016 and an opening night set for February 22. It is scheduled through March 13. Single tickets will go on sale January 5, 2016, but advanced tickets are currently available via subscription packages at www.mcctheater.org.

SiriusXM's Julie James Will Return to Feinstein's/54 Below for Encore Performance on 10/19

To Broadway performers, fans and 'On Broadway' listeners, Julie is best known as the effervescent host of 'Broadway Names with Julie James.' Now Julie utilizes a thrilling 3 ½ octave range with hilarious stories and songs to reveal a childhood obsession with jingles, theme songs and cast albums, as well as a performance background in opera and musical theatre that would ultimately lead her to her role at SiriusXM, where all of these elements combine into one incredible dream job.

Humana Festival Founder Jon Jory and More to Join Cleveland Play House's Hall of Fame

Cleveland Play House will honor a new class of those who have contributed to its vibrant history with a Hall of Fame induction ceremony and luncheon on October 25th from 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Cibreo Privato located at 2037 E. 14th Street. 2015/16 inductees will include Jon Jory, a former apprentice actor at CPH who went on to found the Humana Festival of New American Plays, The Resident Company of CPH (1921-88), and the CPH Heritage Award will be presented to Karamu House, the revolutionary theatre who, like CPH, is also celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

Kitchen Theatre Company to Present New Exhibit by Kent Goetz

 Kitchen Theatre Company is pleased to announce that an exhibition of new paintings by Kent Goetz, 'LOOKING WITHIN: Finding Substance in the Shadows,' will hang in the Judith Holliday Lobby Gallery at 417 West MLK/State Street through December 21, 2015.Opening reception is on Friday, October 2 from 5:30-7:00pm

WHY WATER FALLS Coming to NYC

Christopher Shinn's AN OPENING IN TIME Premieres at Hartford Stage Tonight

Hartford Stage presents the world premiere of AN OPENING IN TIME by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Connecticut native Christopher Shinn, with direction by Oliver Butler of The Debate Society, from tonight, September 17, through October 11, 2015. AN OPENING IN TIME's central Connecticut setting is inspired by Shinn's hometown of Wethersfield.

Gattelli & Flaherty's IN YOUR ARMS, Featuring 10 Dance Vignettes by Iconic Writers, Begins Tonight at The Old Globe

The Old Globe opens its 2015-2016 Season with IN YOUR ARMS, a World Premiere dance-theatre musical featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, Lincoln Center Theater's The King and I and South Pacific) and original music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island; two-time Oscar nominee for Anastasia). The production begins tonight, September 16, with an opening slated for September 24, and runs through October 25, 2015.

Long Wharf Theatre to Open 2015-16 Season with DISGRACED

Long Wharf Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Managing Director Joshua Borenstein, begins its 2015-16 season with Disgraced by Ayad Akhtar, directed by Edelstein, in association with Huntington Theatre Company.

Second Annual Play! in CT Fall Theatre Festival Set for October

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts announced today two major corporate gifts. Tupperware Brands and Ravago Americas are both contributing $1 million on top of previous gifts. Naming rights were given to both companies with their initial gifts -- the Tupperware Brands Lobby is situated at the stage door lobby that welcomes artists, students and people doing business at the arts center. The Ravago Terrace Bar on Tier Three features a view of the Seneff Arts Plaza and the DeVos Family Room.
