Uptown Players, a professional theater group located in the Uptown area of Dallas, has announced its 2014 season at the Kalita Humphreys Theater, which will feature the regional premieres of the 2013 Tony Award winning play, Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike, the 2012 Tony nominated play The Lyons, the 2004 Tony award winning musical, The Boy From Oz, plus the return of an audience favorite, Pageant. Uptown Players will also present its annual fundraising performance - Broadway Our Way, which will be held in January 2014. In April, Uptown Players will join forces with the Turtle Creek Chorale for a concert version of Sweeney Todd at the City Performance Hall. As its summer bonus show, Uptown Players will present the U.S. premiere of the West End hit musical Soho Cinders.

Academy Award-winning DREAMGIRLS actress and international recording star Jennifer Hudson appeared for a short arc on the second season of the recently-cancelled NBC musical drama series SMASH and a new deleted scene featuring Hudson alongside some of the show's stars has now been released in anticipation of the forthcoming Season Two DVD set being released next week.

THE FANTASTICKS, the world's longest running musical, will celebrate a record breaking 20,000th New York performance, on Sunday, September 15, 2013, announced producers Catherine Russell and Al Parinello. The milestone will mark the first time a production (on Broadway or off-Broadway) has ever reached 20,000 performances and will be commemorated in a month long celebration that includes performing at Broadway in Bryant Park and Little Italy, and with The Museum of The City of New York's future cyber gallery highlighting the history of the production.

Direct from his award nominated performance as Emcee, internationally celebrated singer/songwriter WILL YOUNG reprises his role in Rufus Norris' acclaimed production of CABARET. Following a successful West End run, the UK tour of CABARET will open at the NEW WIMBLEDON THEATRE on WEDNESDAY 28 AUGUST.

West London's Tabard Theatre will present the world premiere of Richard Harris' new play, Liza Liza Liza from 4 - 29 September 2013. The production is directed by Kenn Oldfield with full cast and creative team to be announced.

Though Dance New Amsterdam (DNA) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this past May, the organization had a successful first filing and continues forward while working with its community ties and partnerships. Artistic and Executive Director Catherine Peila has announced an exciting roster of both new and returning artists as part of DNA PRESENTS 2013-14 season. To kick off the season, a launch party on September 17, 2013 will feature performances from season artists and special guests DJ's. The A.O. Movement Collective opens the season October 25. Back in March, Liza Minnelli and Alan Cumming, in celebration of Liza's birthday, joined forces at The Town Hall to sing familiar songs from 'Cabaret' and and more. The show was previously performed at Fire Island last summer, produced by Daniel Nardicio, and according to Michael Musto for Out.com, the act will move again- this time to Broadway.
