The Smith Center for the Performing Arts welcomes world-renowned performers, family programming and returning favorites as part of the 2016 winter/spring season.

On December 1st at 7 pm at at Barnes & Noble located at 150 East 86th Street, Ann Hampton Callaway will perform selections from THE HOPE OF CHRISTMAS, a new collection of Christmas songs interpreted by the multiplatinum-selling singer, Tony nominated actress, pianist and leading champion of the American songbook, with lyrics by two-time Emmy Award winner William Schermerhorn. Schermerhorn will join Callaway in the discussion, with Alex Rybeck on piano.

The New Group presents the world premiere of STEVE, a new play by Mark Gerrard. Directed by Cynthia Nixon, this production features Ashlie Atkinson and Francisco Pryor Garat, and as announced, Mario Cantone, Jerry Dixon, Malcolm Gets and Matt McGrath. A limited Off-Broadway engagement plays tonight, November 3, through December 27 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street), with Official Opening Night set for Wednesday, November 18.

Tonight, November 3, Britain's award-winning diva makes her US debut in 'Diva Breakdown' at Martinis Above Fourth. Although La Voix hasn't performed in the US, she's well-known to American audiences from her many performances on Atlantis Cruises and in London. 'Diva Breakdown' will explore the minds of true legends; Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli, Shirley Bassey, Tina Turner, Cher and more analyzed, exposed, and satirically delivered, in her own spine-tingling vocals, by the international red-headed diva, La Voix. The Broadway Artists Connection (BAC) presents its fifth 'Broadway Artists & Friends Open Mic & Mingle' night hosted by HAMILTON cast member Ariana DeBose and kicked off by a stellar line up of Broadway pros at the legendary Don't Tell Mama, Monday, November 23rd at 7pm.

The Fred Ebb Foundation in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company will present the eleventh annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Stacey Luftig and Phillip Palmer.  The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented by Karen Ziemba on Monday, November 30th from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

Liza Minnelli has cancelled her national tour due to health concerns.  According to Tulsa World, 'Officials with Minnelli's management said Minnelli's doctor requested she cancel a series of shows to focus on improving her health.' 

Producers Daniel Nardicio and Andy Brattain will honor Edith Piaf, the iconic French songstress on her actual 100th Birthday with PIAF: A CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION with stars from Broadway, London's West End, Jazz, Cabaret and Rock 'n' Roll. Starring Elaine Paige, Christine Ebersole, Marilyn Maye, Vivian Reed, Little Annie, Gay Marshall, Molly Pope, Amber Martin, Aaron Weinstein and Meow Meow, the concert will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 8:00 PM at The Town Hall(123 West 43rd Street).

Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), the not-for-profit professional theatre company, which recently opened its fourth season in its state-of-the-art theatre in Warwick, is pleased to announce their new Cabaret Club.

The full cast is set for the first national tour of THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, opening at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre on December 10, 2015, and playing through January 17, 2016. (Previews on December 8 and 9.)
