The humidity is starting to climb and it's what we call around here -- 'corn weather'. But in the air-conditioned theatres in the Nation's Capital there is a harvest of new shows opening. So if you're here visiting the monuments and the Smithsonian museums, get out of the heat and come see a play or a musical.

My Base and Scurvy Heart, a new play by acclaimed playwright Adam Szymkowicz, will be presented by Studio 42 for One Week Only at the Wild Project. The preview performance will be on Wednesday, April 27th at 8pm and the press opening will be on Thursday, April 28th at 8pm. The show will also perform on April 29th at 8pm, April 30th at 6pm and 9pm, and on Sunday, May 1st at 2pm. The Wild Project is at 195 East 3rd Street (between Avenues A & B) in Manhattan. This high seas escapade centers on the steely-eyed Terrible Pirate Lottie and her band of lesbian rogues, and follows their adventures in love, swordplay and sexual secrets
