FOX has renewed comedy series NEW GIRL for its sixth season, it was announced today by David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.

Ars Nova continues its support of artists in the early stages of their professional careers through its wide array of unique development programs. Recognizing the critical need for performance as part of the development process, Ars Nova's programs bring bold, innovative new work to the stage all year long, through Project Residencies, concerts, readings, variety shows, workshops, festivals and full productions. Each season, Ars Nova provides audiences over a hundred opportunities to catch something extraordinary.

Actress Megan FOX ('Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,' 'Transformers') will guest-star in a recurring role on the upcoming season of NEW GIRL, appearing in a multi-episode arc of the hit comedy.

Once again, Damon Wayans Jr. will depart Fox's NEW GIRL.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Joan Rivers is among the nominees of the 16th Annual Women's Image Network Awards (WIN). The late comedian joins Scandal executive producer Shonda Rhimes, and actress Julia Roberts on the list of women being recognized for their work in film and television.

On July 2, playwright, author and screenwriter Liz Meriwether will join The Writers' Room with Reza Aslan, a refreshing take on the typically staid literary event that includes a live house band, cocktails, and audience interaction. Staged the first Wednesday of every month, The Writer's Room is an intimate yet fast-paced conversation with some of today's most compelling poets, novelists, non-fiction writers and screenwriters.

Ars Nova is now accepting applications for Play Group, a vibrant and eclectic group of emerging writers who gather twice a month at Ars Nova to share new work and get peer feedback. The group offers members the chance to develop their plays with peer support; to be inspired by each other's work; to form collaborative relationships; and to build a strong sense of community within Ars Nova. All emerging playwrights are eligible for membership. If selected, new members will be invited to join for a period of two years beginning in January of 2015.

FOX has picked up Golden Globe Award winner BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, along with critically acclaimed comedies THE MINDY PROJECT and NEW GIRL, for the 2014-15 season. Psychological thriller THE FOLLOWING also was renewed, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, and Joe Earley, Chief Operating Officer, Fox Broadcasting Company.
