Eight finalists have been chosen to compete in the grand finale of the 7th Annual NYMF Next Broadway Sensation (NBS) competition on October 12th at 11pm at New World Stages. Over 200 people auditioned for NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation.

Today, Nancy Rhodes, Artistic Director announced that the Honorary Chairs, Sheldon Harnick and Maury Yeston join Encompass New Opera Theatre in celebrating Alan Menken's life in the American theatre, film and recording world on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South, NYC.

Producers Janet B. Rosen and Christina Papagjika will present two invitation-only staged readings of the hit Off-Broadway musical In Transit on Friday, October 12, 2012. Tony Award-winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies) will direct the reading of the musical that features book, music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez, James-Allen Ford, Russell Kaplan and Sara Wordsworth.

Mondays in October, Broadway actress Lindsay Mendez (Dogfight, Godspell) and award-winning composer-lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver (35mm, Darling) will team-up for "ACTOR THERAPY," a series of master classes for performers looking to improve their auditions, build a better book, and expand their understanding of what it means to be an actor and song interpreter in New York today.

A packed house honored the theatrical achievements of award-winning playwright Terrence McNally at Westport Country Playhouse's annual fundraising gala, "The Full McNally: A Celebration of the Writing and Works of Terrence McNally," on Monday evening, September 24.

'Once Upon A Time In New York City' will feature musical theatre writers - who are ages 19 to 90, who were born everywhere from Kansas City to San Francisco to Montreal, who are established and who are emerging - each writing a song about someone who has changed their idea of New York City. The concert will benefit The Actors Fund.

The spirit and generosity of the theatre community once again shined as brightly as the autumn sun as the 26th Annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction blew past all previous record totals to raise a spectacular $681,892 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

McNally is the winner of Tony Awards for his plays "Love! Valour! Compassion!" and "Master Class," and his books for the musicals "Ragtime" and "Kiss of the Spiderwoman." Broadway's new musical CHAPLIN opened last night, September 10 at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). CHAPLIN is a new musical depicting the life of film icon Charlie Chaplin, with music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and book by three-time Tony Award-winner Thomas Meehan and Christopher Curtis.
