Mondays in October, Broadway actress Lindsay Mendez (Dogfight, Godspell) and award-winning composer-lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver (35mm, Darling) will team-up for "ACTOR THERAPY," a series of master classes for performers looking to improve their auditions, build a better book, and expand their understanding of what it means to be an actor and song interpreter in New York today.

Each three-hour class focuses on a different aspect of auditioning, and will also include an accompanist/vocal coach to assist with singing technique and musicality. The series will be held at Shetler Studios each Monday from 6:30pm to 9:30pm:

Oliver is a 2011 Lortel Award Nominee, 2009 Jonathan Larson Grant Recipient, 2008 Rodgers Award Winner. He wrote the music and lyrics for 35mm (Original cast recording avail. on Ghostlight Records), Darling (featured on NBC's The Apprentice), Mrs. Sharp (Playwrights Horizons July 2009 starring Jane Krakowski, dir. by Michael Greif), and Jasper in Deadland. Off-Broadway and elsewhere, he's been heard at TheatreWorksUSA's We the People, Rosie O'Donnell's Theater Kids, and cabarets worldwide. Mendez most recently starred as Rose Fenny in the World Premiere musical Dogfight at Second Stage Theatre Company, directed by Joe Mantello. Off-Broadway: Everyday Rapture (Second Stage Theater Company), The Marvelous Wonderettes (West Side Theatre). The complete course is $400 to enroll, with a $75 deposit on sign-up and the $325 balance due the first day. Discounts and scholarships may apply. Class size is anticipated to be intimate.
