The DuPont Theatre opens its 2011/2012 Broadway Series with NETworks Presentations new production of Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein's Pulitzer Prize-winning musical SOUTH PACIFIC, Tuesday, October 18 to Sunday, October 23, 2011.

In 2012, the U.S. Postal Service pays tribute to four influential choreographers who changed the art of dance: Isadora Duncan, José Limón, Katherine Dunham, and Bob Fosse. Designed to look like posters advertising a performance, the stamp art captures the luminosity and mystery of a live dance performance.

The MacDowell Colony, one of the nation's leading artist residency programs, will present its 52nd Edward MacDowell Medal to renowned playwright Edward Albee on Sunday, August 14th. Since 1960, The MacDowell Medal has been awarded annually to an individual artist who has made an outstanding contribution to his/her field. The award is rotated among the seven artistic disciplines practiced at MacDowell; this will be the third time the Medal has been awarded to a playwright. Albee joins an impressive list of past Medal recipients, including playwrights Thornton Wilder (1960) and Lillian Hellman (1976), visual artist Georgia O'Keeffe (1972), composer Leonard Bernstein (1987), architect I.M. Pei (1998), filmmaker Stan Brakhage (1989), interdisciplinary artist Merce Cunningham (2003), and writer Alice Munro (2006).

Tickets are now on sale for the Broadway production of Jon Robin Baitz's OTHER DESERT CITIES, starring Stacy Keach, Stockard Channing and Judith Light. OTHER DESERT CITIES will begin preview performances Oct. 12 at the Booth Theatre and will open Thursday, November 3.

Previews of BARRIERS will begin Wednesday, September 7 prior to an official opening date of September 9 at HERE (145 6th Avenue, enter on Dominick, 1 block south of Spring Street) in Manhattan.

Making War Horse goes behind the scenes of the National Theatre of Great Britain's epic show, now a Tony® Award-winning hit on Broadway with rehearsal and backstage footage, interviews with the original production team, actors and puppeteers, and extracts from show.

New York-area PBS station WNET will air 'The Making of War Horse,' on August 10. The special take viewers on a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the National Theatre of Great Britain's staging of Michael Morpurgo children's novel.
