Great Lakes Theater (GLT) will commence its 50th anniversary season at the Hanna Theatre, PlayhouseSquare, with a Fall Repertory that features the Tony Award-winning musical, Cabaret and William Shakespeare's uproarious battle of the sexes, The Taming of the Shrew.

Neighborhood Productions has announced that the world premiere of Lake Water, written by Troy Deutsch and directed by Daniel Talbott, will begin performances on Saturday, September 17, at 8pm, at IRT Theater, 154 Christopher Street. Lake Water, which features Troy Deutsch and Samantha Soule in the cast, is scheduled to open Thursday, September 22, at 8pm.

According to a report by Baz Bamigboye for Daily Mail, SOUTH PACIFIC star Samantha Womack injured two of her toes during 'Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair' at Monday night's preview performance, but performed in last night's opening against doctor's orders. Director Bartlett Sher shared: 'The doctors pumped her full of steroids and bound her foot . She went on in the finest showbusiness tradition that the show always goes on.'

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that Matt McGrath will appear in the role of Frank ‘N' Furter in The Old Globe's upcoming production of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show. McGrath appeared on Broadway as the Emcee in Sam Mendes' hit revival of Cabaret and in the international tour of Tom Waits and William S. Burroughs' The Black Rider: The Casting of the Magic Bullets directed by Robert Wilson. He has also appeared Off Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Itch and A Fair Country at Lincoln Center Theater. McGrath replaces the previously announced James Barbour, who has departed the production.

Paulo Szot, who has recently emerged as one of the most exciting voices in opera and who won a Tony for his performance as Emile de Becque in the Lincoln Center Theater (Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) production of SOUTH PACIFIC, will be recreating the role of the French plantation owner at the Barbican Centre in London, where the production will run for a limited season of 7 weeks only, with an opening night on 23 August.
