U.S. Premiere of THE PSLAMS EXPERIENCE Comes to Lincoln Center's White Light Festival

This fall, Lincoln Center's White Light Festival will present the U.S. premiere of The Psalms Experience, an unprecedented choral project featuring four world-renowned choirs traversing 1,000 years of music over the course of 12 thematic concerts. Staged in four illuminated spaces across New York City November 1 11, the project will present all 150 psalms set to music by 150 composers, from Bach and Handel to living composers from around the globe, including new commissions by Caroline Shaw, Nico Muhly, and David Lang, among others.

Young People's Chorus of NYC and Meredith Monk Perform at Lincoln Center's White Light Festival

Following its critically acclaimed Mostly Mozart Festival debut in July, the Young People's Chorus of New York City (YPC) performs with Meredith Monk in Dancing Voices at Lincoln Center's White Light Festival. This multidimensional, multiperceptual program of the composer's music is presented in three concerts on Friday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 21 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College.

Hannah Yelland, Bruce Dow, Antoinette Robinson, and More to Star in Shakespeare Theatre Company's TWELFTH NIGHT

Continuing its 2017 2018 Season, Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) presents Twelfth Night. Directed by internationally acclaimed director Ethan McSweeny and featuring Antoinette Robinson (previously announced) as Viola and Tony Award-nominee Hannah Yelland as Olivia, Shakespeare's comic tale of unrequited love will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from November 14 December 20, 2017.

Leslie Odom Jr., Andrew Rannells, Sutton Foster, and Stephanie J. Block To Perform Live at Lincoln Center

This December, some of Broadway's brightest stars Leslie Odom Jr., Andrew Rannells, Sutton Foster with special guest Jonathan Groff, and Stephanie J. Block will headline four special performances combining the intimacy of cabaret with the razzle dazzle of the Great White Way at The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Presented by Live From Lincoln Center, each evening showcases one of these leading voices of musical theater while illuminating their musical journeys to stardom, revisiting favorite songs, and offering glimpses of future projects.

Candoco Announces New Commission from International Choreographer Yasmeen Godder

Multi-award-winning and internationally recognised choreographer Yasmeen Godder will premiere her new work Face In this Autumn, commissioned by Candoco Dance Company and performed by their company of disabled and non-disabled dancers. Face In is the final commission from Stine Nilsen and Pedro Machado before they step down as Artistic Co-Directors of Candoco, as announced in January.

North American Premiere of 3D Chamber Opera Comes to Park Avenue Armory's Drill Hall

Park Avenue Armory will stage Pierre Boulez's rarely performed magnum opus, Répons, honoring the visionary composer in the first major staging of his work in New York since his passing. Conductor Matthias Pintscher will lead the Ensemble intercontemporain and IRCAM—both founded by Boulez—in an unprecedented performance of the work as it was originally intended.

Shen Wei Dance Arts Comes to Chicago for the First Time September

Shen Wei Dance Arts, the internationally acclaimed contemporary dance company led by MacArthur "Genius" Award-winning choreographer Shen Wei, comes to Chicago for the first time September 23 and 24 at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, the Theatre for the People. Celebrated for its "gorgeous visual imagery" (The London Times) and "mesmerizing flow of invention" (The Boston Globe), the company gives Chicago debuts to two of Shen's signature works, Folding and Rite of Spring.

BWW Review: The Bolshoi's Inscrutable Retelling of Shakespeare's THE TAMING OF THE SHREW

On the evening of Wednesday, July 26th 2017 at Lincoln Center's Koch Theater, the most exciting moment during the Bolshoi Ballet's performance of choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot's ham-handed retelling of the plot of Shakespeare's rollicking comedy, The Taming of the Shrew, was a false fire alarm that sent many audience members scrambling for the exits. The dancers gamely carried on, as noted later in an excellent curtain speech by Lincoln Center Festival Director Nigel Redden, who congratulated them for dancing “impeccably” in spite of the scare.

Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival 2017 Announces Opening Lineup

Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival , one of New York's premier summer performance series, kicks off its 51st season on July 25. Among the highlights in the first two weeks are a special opening concert led by Louis Langrée, Renée and Robert Belfer Music Director, featuring traditional and indigenous songs from Mozart's time; a choral presentation by Les Arts Florissants; and guest conductors Edward Gardner and Gianandrea Noseda; festival debuts by more than 10 artists, including Kit Armstrong, Janai Brugger, Jennifer Johnson Cano, S?
