An invitation-only reading of the new musical PopStar will take place today, October 21 (11am) at Pearl Studios (500 Eighth Avenue, Studio #1204).

National Alliance for Musical Theatre (Betsy King Militello, Executive Director) has announced the full cast for the 28th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS. The Festival will take place on Thursday, October 27 and Friday, October 28, 2016 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues).

PopStar features a book by Martin Casella, music and lyrics by Jay Levine and Sophie Dupin and is conceived and directed by Sharon Rosen.

The Summer Mainstage season kicks off at FST with the serenades of a not so traditional Barbershop quartet. Written by John Markus and Mark St. Germain, The Fabulous Lipitones, delivers the story of a broken barbershop quartet seeking their fourth member. The perfect harmony they desire is quickly thrown off key when they see "Bob," for the first time. De la Puente and Davila's MANUEL VERSUS THE STATUE OF LIBERTY, will get a 'rematch' tonight, February 20th at Princeton University! The New York Musical Theatre Festival's award-winning musical comedy about illegal immigration, will receive a workshop featuring student performers, along with members of the original New York cast.

Eddy Cavazos will step into the role of Manuel in the workshop of de la Puente and Davila's award-winning musicalMANUEL VERSUS THE STATUE OF LIBERTY when the curtain goes up tomorrow night at Princeton University. Cavazos, who had previously worked with Davila on ADAN Y JULIO, steps into the role as a last minute replacement for Gil Perez-Abraham whose film schedule made him unavailable at the final hour.

 Virginia Repertory Theatre announces the opening of The Fabulous Lipitones a new play by John Markus and Mark St. Germain on Friday, September 18 at Hanover Tavern, 13181 Hanover Courthouse Road. The show runs through Sunday, October 25, 2015.

On Thursday, July 9th Heather Mac Rae (Hair, A Catered Affair, Falsettos)  will star in a reading of a new, full-length musical, BOLLYWOOD AND VINE by Edward Jordan, June Rachelson-Ospa and Daniel Neiden, based on Edward Jordon's film of the same title at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row.

Director/Choreographer Luis Salgado won the Best Director Award at the closing ceremony of the 2015 NYC Venus/Adonis Festival. Salgado was chosen out of forty-eight other directors who were part of this year's festival, for his direction of Zuccotti Park, the musical.

Zuccotti Park, a new musical about the human side of economics has been selected for the final rounds of Venus/Adonis 2015 Festival after running to a full house all four performances. The festival has extended the run and its final performance will take place at The Robert Moss Theatre at Wednesday March 4th at 8:30pm. Book and lyrics by Catherine Hurd and music composed by Vatrena King, with musical direction by Joshua Coyne. This new musical about the 'Human Side of Economics' will have 4 performances and close the 2015 Venus/Adonis Festival.
