Alí Chumacero Será Recordado A Cien Años De Su Nacimiento Con Múltiples Actividades

Miro nacer la tempestad. Cien años de Alí Chumacero es el nombre del homenaje con el que se celebrará el centenario del nacimiento del ensayista y poeta nayarita, cuyas jornadas de actividades estarán organizadas por la Secretaría de Cultura a través de la Dirección General de Bibliotecas, la Dirección General de Publicaciones, el Programa Cultural Tierra Adentro y el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes, por medio de la Coordinación Nacional de Literatura (CNL), en colaboración con el Fondo de Cultura Económica (FCE), el Instituto Cultural de Aguascalientes, el Consejo Estatal para la Cultura y las Artes de Nayarit, el Instituto Sonorense de Cultura, y la Secretaría de la Cultura y las Artes de Yucatán.

Noticias Telemundo announced details of “México, the Final Battle,” its 360° coverage of the Mexican presidential elections, this Sunday, July 1, live starting at 5 PM E/4 C/2 P on Telemundo, NoticiasTelemundo.com, the Noticias Telemundo mobile app, and the Telemundo news Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages. Emmy-award winning anchor José Díaz-Balart will lead the coverage from the Zócalo in the heart of Mexico City, joined by a network of journalists across Mexico and the United States, including anchors Julio Vaqueiro, Felicidad Aveleyra and Paulina Sodi; reporters Raúl Torres, Issa Osorio, Javier Vega and Víctor Silva; and a team of political analysts and opinion leaders. “México, the Final Battle” will use focus groups and exit polls to present the projected and final results of these historic elections.

TAP CITY, The NYC Tap Festival Returns Next Month

The American Tap Dance Foundation's TAP CITY, THE NEW YORK CITY TAP FESTIVAL will return for its 18th year from Saturday, July 7 through Friday, July 13 with local and international tap dance artists, master classes, a tap dance boat tour around Manhattan,Tap Dance Awards, Rhythm in Motion Concert Performance and "Tap it Out," a free outdoor tap dance event in the middle of Times Square. *Lineup below.

Central Works Presents New Comedy By Cristina García, KING OF CUBA

King of Cuba, a new comedy by award-winning writer Cristina Garcia, opens with a press night on Saturday, July 21, and runs through August 19 (previews July 19 & 20) at the historic Berkeley City Club. The summer adventure of the Central Works 2018 season King of Cuba, is developed by Ms. Garcia in the Central Works Writers Workshop featuring the lesbian-gender-bending comedian Marga Gomez, and the Grammy-winning "bongocero" Carlos Caro. All are Cubanx celebrities living in the Bay Area. Directed by Gary Graves, the full cast includes Marco Aponte, Leticia Duarte, Elena Garrity, Marga Gomez, Ben Ortega and Steve Ortiz.

THE TAP DANCE AWARDS this July at Symphony Space

The American Tap Dance Foundation's TAP DANCE AWARDS will be presented on Tuesday, July 10 at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater, Symphony Space at 7pm. The ceremony will honor winners of the organization's Hoofer and Tap Preservation Awards and include inductions into the ATDF Tap Dance Hall of Fame. The awards evening, which will also offer film presentations and performances, is a featured event of 'TAP CITY,' the week-long celebration of tap dance returning to New York City for its 18th consecutive year (July 7 to 13).

Fulton Theatre Mounts Biggest Production Yet THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME

On June 5, 2018, the Fulton Theatre launches The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the theatre's season finale and biggest production of the 2017/2018 season.  The Hunchback of Notre Dame will also be one of the largest shows in the theatre's one hundred sixty six year history. Over ninety cast and choir members will take the stage amidst soaring bell towers, a gypsy village, and the bustling streets of fifteenth century Paris. Beneath the stage, a fourteen piece orchestra will bring to life the incredible music of the timeless classic.

Houston Ballet Presents PLAY

Houston Ballet presents the final mixed repertory program of the season, Play, an incredible, one-of-a-kind event celebrating the Houston community in an artistic response to the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. After such an historic natural disaster and the destruction it caused for the local community-including flooding Houston Ballet's Center For Dance and home venue, the Wortham Theater-Houston Ballet strives to transform a challenging situation into a positive artistic reaction as they approach the end of the Hometown Tour across the city. This immersive three-sided performance experience has been created specifically for the Hometown Tour's unique venue at the George R. Brown Convention Center's General Assembly Hall, with performances held June 8-10.
