Joining Edward Watts (Superman) in the New York City Center Encores! production of It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman is Jenny Powers as Lois Lane and David Pittu as the evil Dr. Sedgwick, along with Alli Mauzey, Adam Monley, James Saito and Will Swenson. Superman plays at City Center for seven performances through today, March 24, and is directed by John Rando with choreography by Joshua Bergasse and music direction by Rob Berman. An extremely limited number of $20 rush tickets to this year's star-studded BROADWAY BACKWARDS will be released for sale at 6:30 PM Monday, March 18, 2013. The rush tickets will be sold in the lobby of the Palace Theater (1564 Broadway). They will not be available at the box office. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, cash only and are limited to two tickets per person. The show begins at 8 PM.

Superman finds his Lois Lane! According to the show's star, Constantine Maroulis, on Twitter, the Broadway theatre has now been revealed as the Richard Rodgers Theater (currently home to THE GERSHWIN'S PORGY & BESS) with an opening planned for April of 2013.

Though Universal Pictures has chosen not to produce an IN THE HEIGHTS film, the studio has its sights set on another Broadway hit: Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT.

The producers of the critically acclaimed AMERICAN IDIOT previously announced that Green Day frontman and the musical's composer and co-author Billie Joe Armstrong would return to the role of "St. Jimmy" on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 for the final three weeks of the Broadway production at the St. James Theatre, 246 West 44 Street. Following 421 performances on Broadway and 27 previews, the final show is Sunday, April 24, 2011 at 7:30pm. The first national tour launches in the fall of 2011.
