The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) opened its applications to the public for the 2019 Director Residency Programs, which support theatre directors with resources to build and develop new plays, musicals, performance pieces, hybrid works, and devised theatre projects during the 2019 calendar year. The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) announced today that Mia Rovegno and Mia Walker have been named this year's recipients of The Drama League's Directing Fellowship in Film and Television, which gives early- and mid-career theater directors their first opportunities to shadow on professional film and television projects. Ms. Rovegno and Ms. Walker will receive financial support, travel allowances, expert mentors, and a shadow directing assignment as part of their fellowship.

In November 2016, Sam Shepard's Pulitzer-Prize winning play Buried Child debuted on THIRTEEN's Theater Close-Upseries.  In tribute to Shepard, who passed away last week at age 73, THIRTEEN is presenting a special encore presentation ofBuried Child airing in New York Friday, August 4 at 9 p.m. ET on THIRTEEN. Actress Blythe Danner hosts the broadcast.  Director Scott Elliott's acclaimed production by The New Group is available to stream online now for those within the New York metro area.

Lane and Bonnie Comley. The guest of honor of the evening was Moritz von Stuelpnagel (director of Present Laughter, Hand To God), who is a Directors Project alumnus himself.
