The fourth season of the RISING STAR competition continues Tuesday October 10th!

Hand-picked by producer and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, newcomers Justin Collette and Conner John Gillooly will join the cast of School of Rock - The Musical in the role of failed, wannabe rocker, Dewey Finn.

This week The BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop presented its top works in this year's showcase. The event was held at The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater in New York City and premiered performances of the best of songs written and composed by recent members of this Drama League, Drama Desk and Tony honored workshop. We all know that Broadway can be a fickle lady from time to time, tossing shows to and fro. Last season's Shuffle Along was critically lauded and ten times nominated for Tonys and then it was gone. Poof. I'm sure many of us have read articles about the whys and wherefores, but the fact is the show was great and filled with amazing talent. Next week, Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club & Private Event Destination, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond.

A re-imagined version of the 1921 musical SHUFFLE ALONG, one of the earliest stage hits starring, written and directed by African-Americans, opened on April 28 on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre. The musical nabbed a total of 10 Tony nominations this year, including nods for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Featured Actor and Actress, Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Direction, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations. Westchester Broadway Theatre presents its 40th anniversary production of Disney's and Cameron Mackintosh's MARY POPPINS, a musical based on the stories of P. L. Sherman, book by Julian Fellowes, new songs and additional music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, co-created by Cameron Mackintosh.
