Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities Presents WAIT UNTIL DARK, Previews 11/3-5

Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities and Executive Producer James A. Blackman, III proudly present the Broadway mystery thriller WAIT UNTIL DARK by Frederick Knott opening with previews November 3, 4, 5 with the Gala Press Opening night on Friday, November 6 at the Hermosa Beach Playhouse. This is the 2nd show in the 2009/2010 Season for the Playhouse.

Real-Life Married Couple Paige Davis & Patrick Page Open I DO! I DO! at The Old Globe

Real-life married couple Paige Davis and Patrick Page will star in a special engagement of I Do! I Do!, the classic Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt musical based on The Fourposter by Jan de Hartog, in The Old Globe's new Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre. The well-loved classic, by the creators of The Fantasticks, spans five decades in the life of a married couple - from the nervousness of their wedding day to the wisdom of old age. I Do! I Do! will run Dec. 11 - 20, 2009. Previews take place on Dec. 11 at 8:00 p.m. and Dec. 12 at 2:00 p.m. Opening night is Saturday, Dec. 12 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale to subscribers only. Single tickets go on sale on Oct. 25 and can be purchased online at www.TheOldGlobe.org, by phone at (619) 23-GLOBE or by visiting the Box Office.

Liz Callaway Celebrates 'Passage of Time' Release with Performances at the Metropolitan Room Thru 10/25

Tony Award nominee Liz Callaway returns to the Metroplitan Room to celebrate the release of her album 'Passage of Time.' Callaway will perform a series of concerts, which began October 20th and runs through October 25th. The album, her first in 8 years, includes music by Stephen Sondheim, James Taylor, Rogers and Hammerstein, Maltby and Shire, Ahrens and Flaherty, Stephen Schwartz, and Carly Simon.

GIRL CRAZY, FANNY and ANYONE CAN WHISTLE Set for Encores! 2009/10 Season

Girl Crazy, with music by George Gershwin, lyrics by Ira Gershwin and book by Guy Bolton and Jack McGowan, will open New York City Center's 2009-2010 Encores! season on November 19, 2009. The season will continue with Fanny, with music and lyrics by Harold Rome and book by S. N. Behrman and Joshua Logan, on February 4, 2010. Fanny will be the 50th Encores! production presented by City Center since 1994. The season will conclude with Anyone Can Whistle, Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurents' legendary 1964 musical, on April 8, 2010.

Marcovicci, Mason Host One-Night-Only Benefit Cabaret 3/9

Perry-Mansfield, the most legendary of all performing arts schools in the nation, will present a special one-night-only cabaret concert to benefit its scholarship fund, it was announced by Executive Director June Lindenmayer. 'The Art of Cabaret' scholarship fund benefit concert will be hosted by Andrea Marcovicci and Karen Mason, and will feature performances by Barry Kleinbort and Terri Ralston (Perry-Mansfield master teachers), and musical directors Christopher Denny, Shelly Markham, and David Gaines.

Court Theatre continues its 2008-09 season with Frederick Knott's classic thriller Wait Until Dark, directed by Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson. The production will run at Court Theatre, 5535 S Ellis Avenue, March 5 - April 5, 2009. The press opening is Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. A cool-as-ice psychopath smooth talks his way into the home of an unsuspecting blind woman. Unbeknownst to Susie, she's harboring a dangerous prize, and he'll use every trick to get it. Spend an evening on the edge of your seat with the genre Hitchcock made classic. This psychological thriller probes which frightens us more - the evil you can see coming, or the one you can't?
