Today, for RISK AGAIN!, the NTI and NMTI spring 2015 ensemble share words of wisdom they have recently received from teachers at the National Theater Institute.

With a singular schedule and unmatched breadth of training, the National Theater Institute is the nation's leading undergraduate artistic training program. In addition to a rigorous curriculum covering the theatrical greats -- Shakespeare, Williams, Chekov, and O'Neill -- NTI students are learning from today's theater artists. Since its founding in 1970, NTI has united working artists and students in education and collaboration.

Just last night, Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) presented its landmark 30th Anniversary Gala, at The Pierre (2 East 61st Street at 5th Avenue). Directed by Neil Pepe with musical direction by Matt Gallagher, the annual gala celebrated thirty Atlantic seasons with an evening of music and performances from the Atlantic Ensemble and celebrity artists and honor Charles R. Bendit and Paul E. Pariser, co-CEOs of Taconic Investment Partners for their long-time partnership with Atlantic.

The Lion, the gripping, highly acclaimed autobiographical solo show written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer, opened last night, February 8th, at the Lynn Redgrave Theater at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street). Directed by Sean Daniels, The Lion will play an extended engagement Off-Broadway through March 29th, following an award-winning run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and sold-out productions at the Manhattan Theatre Club and London's St. James Theatre. The ?American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University will present a 'by-invitation-only' workshop presentation of the new musical 'Scrooge In Love!' for Northwestern theatre faculty, students, staff and Chicago theatre industry members, on Sunday, Nov. 23.

The National Music Theater Institute (NMTI) students have just returned to campus from two weeks training in New York City; scroll down for photos from the visit! NMTI is the newest credit-earning, semester-long intensive from the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. Utilizing the O'Neill's 50-year experience in training young theater artists and history of developing new musicals (including Nine, Avenue Q, In The Heights, [title of show], and Violet), NMTI offers broad-based training in all areas of musical theater: acting, singing, directing, writing, dance, composition, and choreography. In addition to the semester's rigorous curriculum-classes 14 hours a day, 7 days a week with emphasis on collaboration and the creation of original work- two weeks of the semester are spent learning in the epicenter of American music theater.
