Operating in multiple venues for the first 16 days of the 2018 festival, the organization presents its most ambitious classical music programming to date, extensive world music offerings and a hard-hitting week of jazz and acclaimed Americana and folk music artists, in addition to theatrical productions and films. On April 14, the final day of SMF 2018, an all-day multi-stage event is scheduled for the newly-renovated event spaces at Trustees' Garden. BRIC is pleased to announce full programming for the 2017 BRIC JazzFest, the third annual edition of the celebrated Brooklyn jazz festival, conceived and curated by Jack Walsh, Lia Crockett and Brice Rosenbloom. As it expands even more in its third year, the Festival continues to deliver on the promise Nate Chinen suggested in The New York Times when he wrote, "Given what's still a limited infrastructure for jazz in Brooklyn, BRIC JazzFest could be an important force for good." On Sunday, October 23, at 7pm, Claudio Roditi opens the Luna Stage 2016-2017 'Music in the Moonlight' jazz series, with Brazilliance. Roditi will highlight his original compositions, including 'The Monster and the Flower', 'Piccolo Blues', and 'Ballad for JGL'. He will be accompanied on keyboards by Matt King, a Thelonius Monk International Jazz Piano Competition finalist, who has performed with such artists as bassist Rufus Reid, drummer Billy Hart, and guitarist Vic Juris.
