Blake Aaron & Tom Braxton to Kick Off King Center's 2017 Smooth Jazz Summer Concerts

By:

The King Center has announced THE JAZZSERIES.COM SMOOTH JAZZ SUMMER CONCERTS, which will feature the next generation of smooth jazz artists.

Throughout the years, Brevard Music Group has been honored to bring you some of the best smooth jazz artists in the industry. You'll enjoy these concerts featuring the "Rising Stars" of today, who are sure to be household names of tomorrow.

The first two concerts are listed below, with new concerts coming soon!

BLAKE AARON & TOM BRAXTON

In the Studio Theatre

Sunday, May 28, 7 p.m.

Tickets start at $48 (inclusive of fees)

Tickets on sale Friday, April 7 at Noon

Blake Aaron, a multifaceted guitarist, composer, producer and media personality, draws on a lifetime of diverse musical influences to create a masterful fusion of jazz, R&B, soul, rock, blues and Latin sounds. The Southern California based Aaron creates his most expansive, fully expressive collection yet, artfully alternating his lead voice between three of his favorite guitars: the D'Angelico hollow body, the Fender Stratocaster and the Cordoba Nylon string. Aaron's fans have long been entertained by his multi-guitar approach in his live performances where he'll set up his nylon string guitar on a stand while the Strat or hollow body is strapped around his shoulder - allowing for some amazing switch offs during the same song.

Saxophonist, Tom Braxton has a distinct, melodic sound that has been thrilling audiences of all ages for nearly two decades. Dynamic...energetic...charismatic...warm-hearted...are just a few adjectives that have been used to describe this versatile instrumentalist and gifted composer. Braxton is a seasoned performer who has the amazing ability to "grab the heart-strings" of the audience within the first few minutes of his show; engaging them with his exceptional skill, wit, and charm, leaving them astounded, clapping, and on their feet screaming for more! That's why Jazz Review calls Braxton "one of smooth jazz's most prolific saxophonists...with all the required tools to become a major force."

JAZMIN GHENT & CINDY BRADLEY

In the Studio Theatre

Saturday, July 15, 7:30 p.m.

Tickets start at $48 (inclusive of fees)

Tickets on sale Friday, April 7 at Noon

Jazmin Ghent is a young and very soulful, passionate and dynamic saxophonist known for her exceptional tone quality and her ability to combine her gospel roots to create a fresh new sound in the smooth jazz music industry. Jazmin's debut cd, "Boss", was successful in 2015 with her chart topping singles, "Boss" and "Compared to What" which gained national recognition and was #5 on Smooth Jazz Charts. It is obvious this entertainer's true passion is music! This rising star is one to keep an eye on!

Cindy Bradley is an American jazz trumpet, flugelhorn player and composer who is keeping the trumpet and flugelhorn hip and grooving like her late great heroes Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan and Blue Mitchell. The multi-talented performer has blossomed into a powerful and charismatic presence on the radio and also on the contemporary jazz festival circuit. Bradley released her debut album, "Just A Little Bit," on her own label in 2007. Her second recording, won instant critical acclaim and was followed by, "Unscripted." The hit single from that album, "Massive Transit", remained at No. 1 on the US Billboard Smooth Jazz Songs chart for six weeks. Bradley's fifth solo album, Natural, is scheduled for release at the end of March 2017.
