Nina Lee Aquino, Artistic Director of the Factory Theatre describes their 2015/2016 Naked Season as 'pure theatrical encounters between the audience, the actor, the text, and the empty space that we all temporarily share'. The 2013 Dora Awards took place in Toronto on Monday June 25th at The St Lawrence Centre for the Arts. To accommodate demand, the Bluma theatre was also opened up for guests and the awards were live-streamed via 'Doratron'. As in previous years, there was a glamorous VIP ceremony pre-show followed by a post show street party that closed down Front Street. A record number of Doras were given out, with Young People's Theatre's CINDERELLA the runaway hit of the evening with seven awards. BWW is thrilled readers photos from the evening. (more...)

Albert Schultz, Founding Artistic Director of Soulpepper Theatre Company, previously released details about Soulpepper's 2013 four-show spring lineup, comprised of: Sam Shepard's True West; a new adaptation of Arthur Schnitzler's La Ronde by Jason Sherman; a fresh adaptation of The Barber of Seville by Michael O'Brien with music by John Millard; and Ins Choi's Kim's Convenience.
