I love to go to press junkets to bring fun moments to everyone that listens to this podcast. It really is my attempt to bring you along with me. On this trip out, I went to the press call for upcoming 25th Anniversary Gala for the Abingdon Theatre Company. They are doing a special presentation of Kander and Ebb's AND THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND, as well as honoring 2x Emmy and Tony Award Winning actress, Bebe Neuwirth.

Alphawood Gallery (2401 North Halsted Street, Chicago) continues to merge visual arts and activism via its critically-acclaimed exhibition, Then They Came for Me: Incarceration of Japanese Americans during WWII and the Demise of Civil Liberties. Visitors to the Gallery are invited to take part in a variety of social justice-related programs this Fall, ranging from film screenings and live performances, to workshops and hands-on activist activities.

Singer and Broadway sensation Lea Salonga walked into a studio in Manila with a list of songs. They represented the Philippines' three cultural regions and many languages, selected from a lifetime's worth of research by preeminent musician, scholar, and producer Ryan Cayabyab. Salonga picked songs that appealed to her, both artistically and personally. Her mother had sung her the delicate 'Ili Ili' and several others when she was a child, and came to visit during a session. The Tony Award-winning actress and vocalist, used to selling out prestigious venues worldwide, harnessed this connection and dived into the repertoire with heart and grace.

As a result, Tony Award-Winning Broadway legend Betty Buckley came through door #1 at Jamie deRoy's apartment and sang at a private party organized by the winners . Jamie, Catherine Adler, Paula Kaminsky Davis and Christina Rose.

Executive Director, Connor Deane announced today that the third annual BROADWAY SINGS gala would be held on Monday, November 27 at the historic Westport Country Playhouse. Broadway Method Academy is a non-profit musical theater-training program where young artists are linked with working Broadway professionals, both in the classroom and on-stage. The academy serves at resident conservatory to Westport Country Playhouse.
