The National Theatre's MACBETH Leads March's Top 10 New London Shows

London is never short of temptations, whether splashy West End shows, epic dramas or bold fringe offerings. From Shakespeare and Tennessee Williams to a new epic and a lush romance, here are some of this month's most eye-catching openings. Photo Flash: In Rehearsal with KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN

The Menier Chocolate Factory, in association with Darren Bagert, recently announced that Samuel Barnett (Molina) and Declan Bennett (Valentin) join the company of their new production of Manuel Puig's ground-breaking novel Kiss of the Spider Woman in a new adaptation by Jose Rivera and Allan Baker. Laurie Sansom directs this iconic play, making his Menier debut. The production opens on 21 March, with previews from 8 March, and runs until 5 May.

Hampstead Theatre Announces Upcoming Season

Artistic Director Edward Hall announces Hampstead Theatre's spring/summer season. The UK premiere of Rajiv Joseph's darkly comic post-truth play Describe the Night will be directed by Lisa Spirling. The world premiere of Jemma Kennedy's blisteringly entertaining Genesis Inc. will be directed by Laurie Sansom. The world premiere of Fiona Doyle's haunting and provocative new drama The Strange Death of John Doe will be directed by Artistic Director Edward Hall for Hampstead Downstairs. The production is a Hampstead Theatre commission and a finalist for The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize. Under 30s can access Priority Booking for all shows via The Downstairs Club - Hampstead's free membership scheme to allow better access to the cheaper seats.

Casting Announced For NIGHTFALL At The Bridge Theatre

Laurie Sansom will direct Ophelia Lovibond (Lou), Ukweli Roach (Pete) and Sion Daniel Young (Ryan) in the world premiere of Barney Norris's Nightfall running at the Bridge Theatre from 28 April 3 June 2018, with press night on 8 May 2018. Final casting will be announced shortly.

Martin McDonagh's New Play Will Premiere at Bridge Theatre In 2018

Following Martin McDonagh's success at the Venice, Toronto and London film festivals with his critically acclaimed Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri the London Theatre Company announces, in advance of its next programme, the world premiere next autumn at the Bridge Theatre of a new play by McDonagh.

Tennessee Williams Festival Announces Special Guest Scholar for 2017

The Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival is pleased to announce Felicia Hardison Londre, professor of theater at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, as the special guest scholar at the sixth annual Tennessee Williams Institute (TWI), an immersive University-level symposium offered during the Festival from Sept. 20-24, 2017.

Major New Initiative THEATRE IN SCHOOLS SCOTLAND Launched

Theatre in Schools Scotland is a new initiative, established to support and develop the provision of theatre in Scotland's schools, with the ultimate aim of ensuring that every child in Scotland receives - at their nursery or school - a minimum of one performing arts production, per year, as a core part of their education.

Norfolk & Norwich Festival Announces 2016 Programming

Norfolk & Norwich Festival, one of the biggest arts festivals in the UK, has today announced further events for its 2016 Festival. With the full programme still to be announced, further highlights revealed today include a brand new production of William Shakespeare's The Tempest directed by Artistic Director of Norfolk & Norwich Festival William Galinsky at the Great Yarmouth Hippodrome - Britain's only surviving purpose circus building erected in 1903 and Wild Life, an extraordinary collaboration between CAMPO's Artistic Collaborator Pol Heyvaert and young singer-songwriters from across Norfolk. Wild Life developed organically from the lives of the performers, and focuses on the songs they have written and what science tells us about how teenagers' brains work. The Festival have also announced Fierce Light, the world premiere event and exhibition from 14-18 NOW bringing together poets of international standing with contemporary film makers and visual artists to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War, Chris Thorpe's acclaimed plays Confirmation and Am I Dead Yet? about political extremism and what happens when we die respectively, an evening of French song and poetry with the powerful and unconventional ensemble troupe, I Fagiolini, a one-night only performance by the sensational singer-songwriter and political activist Billy Bragg and the English indie band Tindersticks.

National Museum of Scotland Releases Full Schedule of Events for February 2016

ections 23 Oct 2015 – 31 Jan 2016 Grand Gallery, Level 1 Free New to the National Collections provides a fascinating insight into National Museums Scotland's varied collections and a number of items are on public view for the first time. The display is diverse, from a tiny fragment of the 2013 Chelyabinsk Meteor to the quirky Omnibot 2000 robot butler.

Norfolk & Norwich Festival Announces 2016 Events

Norfolk & Norwich Festival, one of the biggest arts festivals in the UK, has today announced the first shows of its 2016 Festival. With more to be announced, highlights for 2016 so far include: a ground-breaking UK Premiere from contemporary circus cabaret troupe Race Horse Company; the World Premiere of a major new commission from one of the UK's foremost young composers - Kemal Yusuf; excerpts from electro-acoustic polymath Max Richter's intensive investigation in the power of the human brain - Sleep; Aurelien Bory's industrial robot's dance with acrobats Sans Objet; Twenty Feet From Stardom's Lisa Fischer's first ever solo UK concert; an epic staging of Mahler's Symphony of a Thousand by Norwich Philharmonic and a revival of Rona Munro's critically acclaimed The James Plays. The festival runs 13 - 29 May 2016 with full line up still to be announced.
