BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano. This Thursday, August 16th, Broadway Sessions welcomes cast members from the recent Broadway hit Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Dallas DuBois invites you to Be Our Guest as she hosts DISTORTED DIZNEE, described as 'an outrageous Las Vegas-style take on some of the most beloved animated classics. Come be Part of Our World as DuBois and a troupe of fabulous drag queens take you on a twisted -- and very adult -- journey, catapulting you back to your childhood into a Magical Kingdom where dreams come true. This 70-minute extravaganza features high-energy dance numbers, comedy, dazzling costumes and lip-syncing 'ladies'-- with a bit of Cher, Patti LuPone, Idina Menzel and Rihanna thrown in for good measure! This show may not be a Tale As Old As Time but it's certain to offer a happy ending -- if you believe in fairies, that is.'

Tonight, August 13, 2012, New York Theatre Barn will present NYTB in the D-Lounge, a monthly concert for emerging musical theatre writers (now in its 5th year), at the Daryl Roth Theatre. The August 2012 installment of NYTB in the D-Lounge features an excerpt from the new musical Carolina Breeze from writing team Joel Waggoner and Lori Mannette, as well as selections from the new musical Kingdom Come by Matt Webster. The monthly series is executive produced by Laura Brandel and Jason Najjoum.

The Diva and the Baritone, stars Metropolitan Opera baritone Theodore Lambrinos and his singing partner and wife, international operatic soprano Hallie Neill. Elliot Finkel, a concert pianist with the chops of a Broadway musical director wrote the arrangements to showcase the couple's amazing vocal talents in a charming mix of Broadway, opera and the best of the Great American songbook.

Bette Midler tribute artist Donna Maxon revisits the 70's with her new cabaret show BETTE & BARRY: BACK TO THE BATHHOUSE co-written by Maxon and director Michael Schiralli. Maxon stars as the Divine Miss M, performing 'a hilariously bawdy act of tunes, monologues, and jokes. The show co-stars musical director Fonda Feingold as Barry Manilow, and the duo proudly pays homage to the partnership that Midler and Manilow began at New York's Continental Baths in 1970.'

Feinstein's at Loews Regency will continue its Summer 2012 season with the return of MAC and Bistro award winner Raissa Katona Bennett in a special week-long engagement from August 21 to August 25. The show will celebrate the release of her new CD, Another Kind Of Light from LML Music, produced by Rob Abel.

Amy Frear and Chelsea Sanz are pleased to present NAPOLEON PRINCESS GROUPIE NEWSPAPER as part of this year's Philadelphia Fringe Festival. NPGN is written by Amy Frear, directed by Chelsea Sanz and has performances by Jessie Bennett, Amy Frear, Amanda Kearns, Merci Lyons-Cox and Harry Slack. All participants are Philadelphia natives, current students and/or Alumnus from Temple University and The University of the Arts.

Jen Noble (Ghost) and Delius Doherty (Book of Mormon) have been added to the line-up of understudies performing in 'Half Hour: A Last Minute Concert.' On August 19th at 7pm, BroadwayUnderstudies.com has invited some of Broadway's most talented understudies to the stage of the Laurie Beechman Theatre to share their rare talent-the ability to perform at a second's notice. The audience will get to vote on what song each performer will sing, and they wont find out the results until they step up to the microphone.

Cast members scheduled to perform include Peter Gregus, Quinn Van Antwerp, John Edwards, Miles Aubrey, Kristofer McNeely, Taylor Sternberg, Courter Simmons and Fischer. The evening will also feature performances by Erica Aubrey, Stephanie Estep, Leigh Emery, Michelle Macarone and Ryan Malyar.

With baseball season in full swing, NATIONAL PASTIME, a new screwball musical comedy, makes its New York debut, beginning performances Off-Broadway tonight, August 8, 2012 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at Playwrights Horizons in Manhattan (416 West 42nd Street).

Songs from the new musical FICTION IN PHOTOGRAPHS will receive an industry performance today, August 7th at 3:00PM at the Laurie Beechman Theater located at the WestBank Café at 42nd Street and 9th Avenue.

Isabel Keating sang 'I Can't Give You Anything but Love' from the Broadway show Blackbirds of 1928 at Broadway Sessions on June 14th, 2012, accompanied by Joshua Stephen Kartes on the piano. Watch the video of her performance below!

Ralph Meitzler, of Broadway's Rock of Ages, will be making his Solo Cabaret Debut at the Laurie Beechman Theater on 42nd Street and 9th Avenue, August 8th, at 9:30pm. This musical journey of reflection, self-discovery, and acceptance, entitled "I Believe" is musically directed by Benjamin Rauhala and includes a 4-piece band and 2 back-up singers, Shira Elias and Norman Payne!

On August 26th a benefit concert entitled Cancer's Expensive! will be held at the Laurie Beechman Theatre to help benefit Hairspray star Carly Jibson's mother, who is suffering from stage four lung and bone cancer. Renee Zimmerman is 55 years old and has no health insurance.

This Thursday, August 2nd, Broadway Sessions welcomes cast members from the hit Broadway revival of Evita. Cast members scheduled to perform include Daniel Torres, Rachel Potter, Melanie Field, Sydney Morton, Emily Mechler, Laurel Harris and Colin Cunliffe.
