Broadway at the Hobby Center announced the lineup of shows for its 2018-2019 Season today. Tony Award® winners, premieres, and all-time favorites make up the new season of nine productions, including two season options.

Casting has been announced for Cameron Mackintosh's spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA for the premiere South Bend engagement at the Morris Performing Arts Center.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash hit School of Rock - The Musical will welcome eight new cast members to the national tour on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Rocking their way across the country will be Alyssa Emily Marvin as Marcy, Grier Burke as Tomika, Vincent Molden as Zack, Huxley Westemeier as Billy and Iara Nemirovsky as Summer. Based on Gaston Leroux's 1910 horror novel of the same name, The Phantom of the Opera follows a deformed composer who haunts the grand Paris Opera House. Sheltered from the outside world in an underground cavern, the lonely, romantic man tutors and composes operas for Christine Daae, a gorgeous young soprano star-to-be. As Christine's star rises, and a handsome suitor from her past enters the picture, the Phantom grows mad, terrorizing the opera house owners and company with his murderous ways. Still, Christine finds herself drawn to the mystery man.

Cameron Mackintosh today announced that from Monday 30 April Elana Martin will play 'Ellen' and Aicelle Santos will play 'Gigi' in the current UK tour of his acclaimed production of Boublil and Schonberg's legendary musical MISS SAIGON. They join Red Concepcion as 'The Engineer', Sooha Kim as 'Kim', Ashley Gilmour as 'Chris', Ryan O'Gorman as 'John' and Gerald Santos as 'Thuy'. At certain performances 'The Engineer' is played by Christian Rey Marbella, and 'Kim' is played by Joreen Bautista.

After nearly a decade since the last UK tour sold out within days, Cameron Mackintosh is delighted to announce that his acclaimed Broadway production of Boublil and Schonberg's musical 'LES MISERABLES' will open at Curve Leicester for a season from Saturday 3 - Saturday 24 November 2018 (press night 14 November 2018 ), before playing the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Dublin (5 December 2018 - 12 January 2019), Festival Theatre Edinburgh (22 January - 16 February 2019) and Manchester Palace Theatre (19 February - 30 March 2019). Further dates will be announced.

The 2018/19 Mirvish season will feature six Canadian premieres, one North American premiere, one pre-Broadway engagement and five new productions. A total of 16 shows will play at Mirvish theatres from June 2018 to July 2019. The main subscription season will feature seven shows and the Off-Mirvish season three shows. There will be six bonus shows that will not be on subscription.

THE GREEN ROOM 42 - Broadway's newest intimate concert venue - will welcome back Eva Noblezada, the Tony Award nominated star of Broadway's Miss Saigon for three more Monday shows on February 26, March 5 and March 12 at 7:00 PM. Her show "Girl No More" has been extended regularly since it first debuted in the fall of 2017.

I owe an apology to some friends. I claimed recently that SCHOOL OF ROCK the movie written by Mike White was based on SCHOOL OF ROCK THE MUSICAL but it's really the other way 'round. I'm that much of a (misinformed) theatre snob. Not so misinformed usually, but I admit Andrew Lloyd Webber isn't generally one of my favorite composers, despite my love of EVITA and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. That's why I was all the more surprised that SCHOOL OF ROCK, as it turns out, isn't all that Webber-esque. I didn't know this was a movie starring Jack Black, and I didn't know Webber quietly bought the rights for it, hoping to make it into a musical some day. Webber takes the original concept, with lyrics by Glenn Slater and book by Julian Fellowes (yes, the Downton Abbey Julian Fellowes) and voila! Somehow with a little help from Lou Reed, Stevie Nicks and Mike White, and a few others, the whole thing comes together quite nicely. I'll leave you to imagine what these guys do to a story that was directed by Richard Linklater for film. But, suffice it to say, this is Andrew Lloyd Webber, but it's not your mother's Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Multiple sources have revealed a starry cast for the upcoming West End production of Chess at London's Coliseum. The cast is said to include Michael Ball (The Russian), Alexandra Burke (Svetlana), Murray Head (The Arbiter), Tim Howar (The American) and Cassidy Janson (Florence).

 The touring production of Les Miserables has officially opened in Montreal at Place Des Arts, coming from its highly praised, two-and-a-half year run on Broadway. The show opened February 7th, at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier to eager spectators ready and willing to immerse themselves in early nineteenth century France, iconic songs, invigorating ensemble numbers and stunning sets. Expectations were high and excitement was palpable.

Before school's out this February half term, Andrew Lloyd Webber announces that later this month (24 February 2018) he will welcome a new group of kids to his Olivier award-winning production of School of Rock - The Musical. Continuing in the West End at the New London Theatre, School of Rock - The Musical is currently booking to 13 January 2019. In October this year an Australian production will open at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne, a Broadway production continues at the Winter Garden Theatre and the US national touring production is currently booking to September 2018.
