There are very few musicals that leave you experiencing a whirlwind of emotions and are supplemented by truly remarkable music. LES MISERABLES is the perfect combination of both and is definitely a must-see for all theatre-goers. On July 10th the touring production of LES MISERABLES presented by Broadway Across Canada had its first performance in Vancouver at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and will continue until Sunday July 15th. Highlighting the story of Jean Valjean (Prisoner #24601) in 19th century France, we follow him throughout his life after he is released on parole and strives for a better future. With its action, romance, humor, and drama the touring production of LES MISERABLES is one that appeals to a wide audience leaving each person completely in awe.

SCHOOL OF ROCK is a fleetingly affable evening composed by Lloyd Webber for lyrics by Glenn Slater (Sister Act) and a book by Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey). The kids are more than alright, saving the night and earning an 'A' for natural talent and a refreshingly unaffected stage presence.

Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Boublil and Schonberg's legendary musical MISS SAIGON - a smash hit in London, Broadway, and currently breaking box office records on a national tour in the U.K. - will launch its highly anticipated North American tour at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) in Providence, Rhode Island September 21- 30, 2018. As one of the final so called mega-musicals of the 1980s, Miss Saigon could be forgiven if it felt a little dated by 2018. Thankfully, there's not one bit of tiredness about this re-booted version, originally seen in London in 2014 for its 25th Anniversary.

As kid musicals go, SCHOOL OF ROCK isn't half bad. It falls somewhere between ANNIE and MATILDA on the Richter scale of stories about downtrodden kids overcoming obstacles to win in the end. It's got enough emotional oomph to tug on your heartstrings and it gives you plenty of reasons to happily cheer the underdogs on. It's also making stars out of its young cast members, right and left.

Seldom is there a musical where the question asked is not have whether you seen it, but rather how many times have you seen it. Andrew Lloyd Webber's 1988 blockbuster THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is such a musical. Repeated viewings are commonplace in Western New York, with many having seen the original Toronto or New York production in addition to many of it's national tours.

THE GREEN ROOM 42 - Broadway's newest intimate concert venue - will welcome back Eva Noblezada, the Tony Award nominated star of Broadway's Miss Saigon, for two more Monday shows on May 14 and May 28 at 7:00 PM. Her show "Girl No More" has been extended regularly since it first debuted in the fall of 2017. "Girl No More" takes the audience through an evening of pop ballads, jazz standards and musical theater favorites, including songs made famous by Amy Winehouse and Frank Sinatra.
