The sold-out audience at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre was dazzled last night, March 21, 2016, by this year's stirring edition of Broadway Backwards. The annual celebration, where men sing songs originally written for women and vice versa offering this audience the chance to see LGBT stories told through the great songs of musical theatre, set a new fundraising record. The evening raised an incredible $480,287 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City. Producers have announced casting for the upcoming 2013-14 tour of MAMMA MIA! Leading the cast of 30 of MAMMA MIA! is Georgia Kate Haege as 'Donna Sheridan,' the independent single mother whose carefree past catches up with her on the eve of her daughter's wedding. Bride-to-be 'Sophie Sheridan' is played by Chelsea Williams; her fiance 'Sky' is played by Chris Stevens.

The Atlanta Opera, one of the nation's finest regional opera companies enriching lives through the power of opera, continues its 2012-2013 Studio Tour with four family performances of the children's opera, Stone Soup. The performances, three open to the general public and one designated for Girl Scouts specifically, will take place in venues throughout Metro Atlanta.
