Steppenwolf's GARAGE REP to Kick Off on Valentine's Day

Performances of Steppenwolf Theatre Company's fifth annual Garage Rep are scheduled to begin February 14, 2014, featuring The New Colony's world-premiere production of reWILDing Genius, Prologue Theatre Company's Chicago-premiere production of Saturday Night/Sunday Morning and Walkabout Theater Company's world-premiere production of The Wild. These innovative storefront companies perform in rotating repertory for ten weeks through April 20, 2013 (press performances are March 8 and 9, 2014). Performances are scheduled Wednesday through Sunday in the Garage Theater (1624 N Halsted St); a full performance schedule, including the line-up for Late Night @ Garage Rep, follows. Garage Rep single tickets ($20) and three-play passes ($45), as well as Late Night single tickets ($5) are on sale now through Audience Services (1650 N Halsted St), 312-335-1650 and steppenwolf.org.

Carolyn Braver, Jerry MacKinnon & More Set for Steppenwolf for Young Adults' LEVELING UP; Cast Announced

Steppenwolf for Young Adults has announced casting for the upcoming production of Leveling Up by Deborah Zoe Laufer. Hallie Gordon directs a cast featuring Carolyn Braver, Jerry MacKinnon, Clancy McCartney and JJ Phillips in this Chicago premiere. Leveling Up runs February 26 - March 15, 2014; the press performance is on March 1 at 11am. Performances at 10am are reserved for school groups only; public performances are scheduled March 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 7:30pm. LORD OF THE FLIES Set for Steppenwolf's Young Adults' 2013-14 Series; Performances to Begin 10/16

When the game turns deadly, how will you play? Steppenwolf for Young Adults' 2013/14 season asks this question with Nigel Williams's adaptation of William Golding's classic, Lord of the Flies. The Hypocrites Artistic Director Halena Kays stages the production in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre, featuring William Burke, Spencer Curnutt, Lane Flores, Rudy Galvan, Ryan Heindl, Cale Manning, Brendan Meyer, Lance Newton, Ty Olwin, Kevin Quinn, Adam Shalzi and Dan Smeriglio. Lord of the Flies runs October 16 - November 15, 2013; the press performance is on October 19 at 3pm. Performances Tuesday through Friday at 10am are reserved for school groups only; public performances are scheduled Friday at 7:30pm (except October 18), Saturday at 3 and 7:30pm, and Sunday at 3pm. Steppenwolf Theatre Company is pleased to announce the three Chicago companies selected for the fifth annual Garage Rep: The New Colony, Prologue Theatre Company and Walkabout Theater Company. These innovative storefront companies present three productions in rotating repertory for a ten-week run February - April, 2014 in the Garage Theatre (1624 N Halsted St). Rehearsals are underway for Steppenwolf for Young Adults' world-premiere stage adaptation of the bestselling novel, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, adapted by Heidi Stillman. The Book Thief is staged by Hallie Gordon in partnership with Chicago Public Library's One Book, One Chicago and the citywide, season-long Now Is The Time initiative with Chicago Public Library, Facing History and Ourselves and other local cultural organizations. The Book Thief runs today, October 16 - November 9, 2012 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St); the press performance is on October 20 at 3pm. Author Markus Zusak will participate in a post-show discussion following the 3pm performance on Sunday, October 21. School performances are sold out, and tickets to public performances are limited.
