2nd Story and Collaboraction are the first two organizations to gain certification from On Our Team's Pay Equity Standards. 

Collaboraction's next episode of its live monthly talk show, Becoming, Pay Equity 101 - Case Studies in Fair Pay and Why is it Important, will feature three special guests currently leading the theater industry in implementing pay equity policies.

Chicago's longest-running storytelling collective, 2nd Story, is expanding its groundbreaking training program under the new brand CultureBuilds.

The Chicago-based Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation (the Foundation)—an organization that offers unrestricted grants to 175 small arts organizations in Chicago with budgets under $1 million—recently surveyed 61 of its arts grantees to garner insights on 2020 virtual programming.

With its original run almost sold out, Steep Theatre has added eight more performances of Calamity West's Hinter. Called 'taut, complex and a bloody good time" by Alex Huntsberger of TimeOut Chicago, this thrilling new play has enthralled audiences and critics alike. Hinter will run through Saturday, March 17.

Steep Theatre presents the world-premiere of Calamity West's new play, HINTER. The play was inspired by the Bavarian Hinterkaifeck murders, where six members of one household were brutally murdered in 1922. The case was never solved. HINTER delves into that mystery and attempts to piece together what may have really happened on that fateful night. HINTER opened on January 25th and will run through March 3rd.

West has quickly emerged as an important Chicago playwright, with recent acclaimed productions of her works Rolling (Jackalope Theatre) and Give It All Back (Sideshow Theatre). Chris Jones of the Chicago Tribune dubbed West 'the real deal' and 'one of this city's most exciting new voices.' DeFabo Akin has delivered notable Steep productions including strangers, babies, Book of Days, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, and 2016's The Few.

It seems rather poetic that newly appointed Artistic Director Will Davis's first production at American Theater Company, MEN ON BOATS, focuses rather literally on charting new frontiers. Jaclyn Backhaus's witty, entertaining play (which Davis previously helmed with a different ensemble off-Broadway) offers a fictionalized account of Major John Wesley Powell's expedition along the Colorado and Green Rivers towards the then-unknown Grand Canyon. The titular men on boats comprise a crew of ten split among four vessels-and all are played by women or gender non-conforming performers.

Pride Films and Plays will present its fourth installment of LezFest; a one-night variety show which features lesbian and genderqueer performers through music, movement, spoken word, storytelling, and stand-up comedy. LezFest IV is produced by PFP company member Carolyn Reynolds and is directed by Patrice Foster and will feature exciting new talent as well as some past performers who have helped make this event a sold-out success three shows running.
